My son works a restaurant job (one of two jobs, and he goes to school). He is an immigrant. In Australia. You never know when “immigrant” is a word that might be applied to someone you love.

Apropos of nothing, just a minor side note for levity, I used to have a crush on Bourdain. As he came into the public eye, people started stopping my father on the street assuming he was Bourdain. That crush was quashed very quickly.

There was a thing on Marketplace on NPR tonight about immigration and produce, and how an apple pie was probably going to cost about $45 dollars if Trump and Company have their way.
