My mum has the worst pain tolerance for everything except having babies. She told my sister not to worry, it doesn't hurt that bad, it's over quick etc. My poor sister had a 42 hour labour ending in caesarean because her pelvis was physically unable to push a baby out. She wanted to murder my mother.

I cut my youngest sisters umbilical cord when my mum had her fifth kid in a birthing pool in our living room. I was eight years old. That’s helping right?
