Yeah I didn't care for the homeless girl question. I liked her because she seemed fun and not too superficial. not worried about how being a jock wasn't "girly."

I don't think Muslim women are dusty black clumps.
I've seen a couple commenters mention rice flour. apparently it's gentle enough and doesn't have the high pH that you get with baking soda.
walnut and apricot pieces might have sharp edges. baking soda is alkaline and will mess with the pH of your skin (human sebum is acidic.) I've been scanning this post for a few minutes and I think the best bet is rice flour.
rice flour. some people go for baking soda but that's not the greatest idea. baking soda is alkaline/basic and human sebum is acidic. so baking soda will mess with the pH of your skin. Sounds like rice flour is closer to a neutral pH and is safer.
I don't know how accurate my little pH testing strips are, but I think I have encountered perfection in yucca root. it read as acidic and contains natural saponins that will lather and cleanse. I take some dried yucca root powder, put it in a little fabric bag, steep it in hot water for a few minutes, and shampoo with…
Do it! you will be pleased. as long as you don't have a nut allergy or something.
i may be mixed up about terminology.
yeah I realized afterwards that my city has a large population of Somali immigrants and i was seeing one particular group of Muslims who might have their own tendencies. Also when someone wears an all black burka that really stands out so my mind latches on to it. But if another Muslim woman wore a long skirt, long…
That would be awesome! it's supposedly every reality show... but then writers and producers step in and then it's NOT what reality shows are like. last night i was telling my boyfriend a little about each contestant and i mentioned that even though Kelsey seems crazy she may not be.
oh i used festive to mean fun and cool. i didn't think it was, say, holiday or ceremonial wear.
I swear this show puts them through some sort of training sessions in which they are told to be as vague as possible and use as many pop psychology terms as they can. Mackenzie once asked him, "why are you kissing the other girls?" and technically the answer is "because i'm dating all of you." he said something dumb…
it's confirmed that Britt is an aspiring actress. The others I don't know about. http://heavy.com/entertainment/…
i have changed my mind.
maybe in some countries, but if you read all the other replies to me you will see there is quite an array of fashion.
huh. i haven't seen people dress like that at all. now i'm wondering if I have only seen a select group (somalian immigrants in minneapolis) and they dress differently. OR maybe my brain is playing tricks on me and remembering the black burka clad women and conveniently not remembering the more festive clad hijab…
well crap. it seems i should have read the buzzfeed article in addition to the Jezebel write up.
oh that's really cool. Apparently i don't know anything? :) there is a big Somali population in Minneapolis and I kept trying to remember what I'd seen various women wearing but the only image that would come to mind was the women in burkas. I guess the hijab doesn't stand out to me quite as much as a full burka…
Yeah I'm starting to feel silly. There is a large Somali population here in Minneapolis but apparently I'm still not quite in the loop as to what Muslim women wear. Or maybe immigrants dress differently from Muslims who were born here? IDK
interesting! I see quite a few Muslim women in Minneapolis but I thought I saw more burkas than hijabs. Although I don't exactly keep a list, you know?
