They could do a two-fer and combine that with some element of erotic thriller and call itself “the Ruby Shoe Diaries” 

A movie about the oppression suffered by a majoritarian group of differently sized and magically disadvantaged populations by an authoratarian witch and the struggles of their union to free themselves from that oppression has Oscar Bait written all over it

Which is why it felt cringey to me. Love Phoebe but it felt a little try hard considering song and artist.

It was just there and kind of silly and thus refreshing. It’s good to see the show no longer feeling weighted down by political sketches and just having fun. In fact, I’ve enjoyed both episodes this year as they feel looser and more fun

Forgot to add I’m really glad they didn’t do a Schitt’s Creek parody but would have killed for an Annie Murphy cameo

-I liked the opening skit and it was nice to return to a time when opening skits could be about things that aren’t political. I just saw the skit as goofing on super bowl commercials and the vague liberal, corporate platitudes behind many of them

I felt bad for her in that she’s getting her big and deserved moment and the mix obscured her greatest talent- her voice.

Dennis would totally be a MAGA-Ute because he’s sexist, racist and possibly psychotic. He would also be able the type to tail endlessly about “cancel culture.” He’s either that or some libertarian type who uses that philosophy to defend his awful behavior 

The Qanon Anonymous is a good podcast to listen to take a deep and alternately hilarious and terrifying dive into QAnon. Such an amazingly dumb conspiracy theory espoused by amazingly dumb people who are also becoming extremely dangerous 

That was also a regular bit Drew Magary did on Deadspin and the Defector. Always an interesting topic of discussion

Ring scared the crap out of me and when the lights came up after the movie was over, you can see on people’s faces how scared they were, like they had just been through a lot. I’ll never forget some dude sitting behind me with two women sitting next to him telling them that he wasn’t scared and the movie wasn’t that…

Signs is incredibly underrated. There’s an element to Jaws of it in that what’s scary is what you imagine and now what you are shown. I really enjoyed the perspective of a family dealing with an alien invasion without the aliens being there and how the story is primarily advanced by other means
