Delaware is Pennsylvania’s younger sibling. No matter what the get up to, you always feel partially responsible.

My husband and I are actually considering a move back. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone defend my home state with such passionate fervor. It’s a bold, brave move, and it brought a tear to my eye.

It’s a lovely place of make believe.

This is one where I hope the sum is as good as the parts because the cast and writers and their various associations are epic.

This further proves that Delaware is not a real place.

That was my assumption too if that’s was his family. They’ve probably been terrorized to the point where just keep their heads’ down. And/or they know intervening will just make it worse.

Right. I was going to say (but hesitated) that he may have totally deserved being arrested, but the underlying assumption that people deserve what they get while the actual arrest goes down, that’s what enables the police to commit terrible crimes. Dragging someone away without their shoes just isn’t necessary and…

Denial? My grandmother’s Alzheimer’s had been eating away at her brain for years before our family knew anything. If you have positioned yourself as the man in charge, you might have cowed all your loved ones into unquestioning servility.

Perhaps this follow up story will shed more light on what might have happened.

I know one doesn’t necessarily look one’s best in a mug shot, but that doesn’t look like the face of a healthy 84-year-old.

He’s 84-ish. His debit card doesn’t work. And, he seems to have some people mooching off of him, possibly taking advantage of him. He has had a distinguished career his entire life without incident until now. This needs to have a social worker involved ASAP! Too many red flags going on here.

This is just so sad.

Yeah, and I think it can be hard on a lot of people to get old and feel like they are losing control over their mind and losing the power that they had earlier in life over their surroundings. Still, clearly this dude was in the wrong and also why in the world didn’t his family step in??

Not to make light of it, but it sounds like dementia has done a number on him. I'm not looking forward to getting that old.

You were incredibly polite. And I’m deadly serious. I don’t comment as much as many on Jez articles but I read basically all the comment sections. I don’t know if she’s losing her mind or on a power trip, but it’s disconcerting to see her throw her weight around.
