God I love that meme

“Imagine streaming a movie, but *we* decide when you take a piss break.”

I think Tesla is still worse than most other automakers, but they are doing something very different and they’ll get some leeway in that regard. Though I wouldn’t personally buy one yet.

Gas springs come in a wide variety, despite how they may appear on the outside. They are not simple mechanisms internally. Machining even a simple tool can be much more complicated than people realize. At least Subaru recognized there was an issue and is doing the right thing to have potentially faulty parts replaced.

And thousands of weird nerds looked up to the sky and saw the Tesla signal. Elon needs you to run damage control!

Subaru extended the warranty when they learned they had a problem. Tesla slashed theirs. That’s the difference between Tesla and other car companies, right there.

LOVE THIS QUESTION, thank you!

The problem is, if I understand it, that when people are sitting on their asses they’re watching Netflix or Hulu or Amazon Prime.  Quibi was supposed to be for, like, 10 minutes riding the bus or whatever.

This movie and Jackass 2 were the craziest movie-theater experiences I’ve had. Just a wonderful collective experience. A close third is seeing The Descent in the theater with like ten other people there and we were all just cursing at the screen in terror by the end of it.

My friend worked on a Quibi show and they had a similar backup plan, and I suspect were maybe even hoping they’d go down so they could resell the content to another streamer. But apparently they had to edit a vertical AND a horizontal version of everything, which sounds insane.

Stop making fun of Quibi! You think it’s EASY to take a television show and chop it up into smaller bits and pretend it’s somehow desirable and more convenient? I’d like to see YOU do something that pointless!

I keep it real through a kinetoscope.

Just out of curiosity, if you would only have given the original movie a B if you had reviewed it upon its release, what’s an example of a comedy you would have rated higher?

None taken - always happy to show my work!

Ah alright that's fair.  I imagine it was going to be a retrend in some ways.  Didn't mean any offense, thanks for the clarification.

Quibi itself turned out to be the “quick bite” after all.

I think it was the most outrageous scene by far. Considering most scenes involve Borat walking his interviewees/subjects across the line into inappropriateness or copping to some odious beliefs, the naked wrestling was full-on “we’re going there.”

I feel like seeing this in theaters, that was the big screaming/laughing/holy shit moment. I had multiple different people recall to me their experiences of having a packed theater just LOSE THEIR MINDS during that sequence. Definitely not the most pointed or satirical moment of that movie, but I’d argue that it’s a

I saw every episode of Home Improvement multiple times because it used to be on between Simpsons reruns every day. Maybe not “saw” as much as “absorbed through osmosis.”

I’m enjoying how Noel seems genuinely surprised/entertained by some of the things Matt says.
