“How he has a career is beyond me.”
“How he has a career is beyond me.”
Pretty rude of him to disrespect one of Fincher’s better movies like that.
“Wouldn’t” not “couldn’t.” Those HR policies are an active choice.
That gate drum sound is all over popular music right now. You can always tell when Jack Antonof produced a song because of the super 1983 drum tones. Between that and the TR-808 clap, popular music is deep in 80s drum sounds.
I’m getting Thora Birch’s dad vibes.
The Hours? More like The Weeks.
Why?
That’s shitty! Do affiliate stations normally get streaming royalties?
Everyone rightly remembers his performance in The Thing, but god damn was that a good monologue in The Firm.
“What kind of horse have got?”
I imagine Portia De Rossi does a lot of charity work for horses. Does anyone know if that’s accurate?
It makes me so happy to imagine Estelle Harris encountering an insult comic and getting all bent out of shape about it.
“What a horrible man! I think he misheard me on purpose!”
Jack Human?
How did you forget the name of a man whose name is a euphemism for ejaculating?
I get that, and I do prefer REM. Think about it from a mid-80s perspective. Vietnam, Country Music, and maybe the one about The Mayo Clinic were the only high profile Burns docs that haven’t been available on Prime in the past 6 months. I think the news is that PBS figured out a way to get paid more for this content (and good for them. They can have my money).
Looking back, there wasn’t nearly as much musical difference between the sound of the Go Go’s in 1984 and the sound of REM in 1984 as one might expect. They were on the same label. It’s interesting to consider why one band is so much more respected.
I have no opinion about this series, but this seems like a fair place to share an idea. With the right script, I think Michael McKean could do a pretty great job as Trump. He has the build and I think his last season on Better Call Saul shows that he has the lack of vanity required to artfully depict the grotesqueness…
The vast majority of this stuff was already on Prime until about 6 weeks ago when most of the Ken Burns stuff and a whole mess of American Experience docs disappeared overnight. I fell asleep watching an American Experience about Tesla and when I woke up it was unavailable.
I’m happy if this means PBS was able to get…
