From the commentators on F1 TV it appears the biggest advantage is tire wear and temperature management. Going toe neutral on the straits appears to reduce outer tire wear and allows you to cool the tires more on the straits allowing for pushing the tires harder for longer in the turns.

Straight line speed was Merc’s big downfall last year. (Not that you can really say that a team who dominated the championship had much of a “downfall.”)

4% of 2,000 is 80, not 160.  I think I understand why you’re a former tax preparer

The idea that women oriented companies would want to sponsor a race team primarily viewed by men was flawed from the start.

I understand the gravity behind the situation, I think. But isn’t fielding an exclusively female team the definition of a gimmick?

Counter-counterpoint: Stop living paycheck to paycheck. Many (most?) Americans are in such a situation due to their own choices.

Well that and $150 will get you a passport.

Man, this “article” is badly written. Were no journalists available?

The funny thing is, I’m almost certain that if every car on the road were self driven and ever car was not able to go above speed limit, the fact that the human element is gone would mean you’d probably end up at your destination faster than if you speed.

My grandmother was a house keeper. It was brutal work, scrubbing floors on her hands and knees. As a result I’m super sensitive to cleaning staff, go out of my way to treat them like people and not furniture or slaves, and do my best to tip often and generously.

Do not tip your hotel staff! A few exceptions, tip the person who brings up your bags and tip room service.

Not to mention if this becomes so commonplace that staff becomes “tipped” employees, that you bet your ass management is going to reduce them to 4$/hr.

Tip. ($10/day, per person who stayed) If your stay is multiple days, tip every day you expect cleaning service. Seriously.

I leave the DND sign up because I prefer they stay out. It’s not that I am hiding anything, I would just prefer they not come in, and I don’t need the service. I realize it’s not a legally binding contract. In all the many, many hotels I have stayed at, I have never come back to find my room clean when I left the DND

Truth!  Over there all they want to do is tip shame.

My thoughts exactly!

$10/day per person for tips? Have you been talking to the Salty Waitress?

$10 per day, per person?!?

Lolwut? $10/day/person?! So for a week long trip, a small family (or group of friends) could tip a few hundred dollars?

We’re supposed to tip the housekeeping staff? This is new information....
