"powerful 2.2L engine"

Suspension was decent? Are you really sure you actually owned a Cobalt?

Backup cameras are increasingly popular options on new cars, and there's a good chance they'll be standard equipment for safety reasons in a few years. So why are we still using a piece of glass to see behind us most of the time?

I like you.

That's not changing. We're about honesty and we'll call people out when they aren't. We'll also applaud them when they are. No better way to prove it than like this.

Screaming aside, trying to kick out the center divider was kind of a bad ass move....

It's funny - most everyone hated tiled comments when we first made that change.

The 1.4 or 1.75 turbo engines would be fine but I'd definitely love something NA that revs.
Not something that doesn't get going until the really high RPMs but something smooth, responsive and quite linear with plenty of mid-range and high end. A modern take on how the old Twin Spark engines drove, basically.
It's

I take that back.....I am wrong. Praise Jesus.

"I felt a great disturbance in Bowling Green, as if millions of middle-aged, Hawaiian shirt-wearing voices cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced"

Worked for Aston Martin...

As far as the engine goes, yes.

Many people increase the legroom in their Miatas by removing some of the seat foam (it's about 4" thick), relocating the seat back and down (bend the from mount straight and then bolt the rear mount to the floor behind the raised section it normally mounts too) and by installing a smaller wheel as needed. The big issue with the 1.8s is the gas mileage. I get 30-32 mpg easily out of my 1990 but my former '96 only got 26-28 mpg. I also don't like the fact that they don't have armrests (though that can be easily fixed) and have less room on the passenger side (because the computer is behind the passenger seat). However

94/95 are the best years, because OBD1 and the 1.8L! I may be biased, since this is my 94!

Said it in a comment reply to Travis, but the 1994 and 1995 models are considered by many to be the best of the NA Miatas (and, IMHO, therefore the best Miatas.)

Say whaaat?

I bought the Miata as my first new car in early 1990. Mine now has 167,000 (s)miles on it and sits alongside my Austin Healey 3000, BMW 2002, Infiniti G37, and Lotus Eleven vintage race car. Ask me which one I drive the most?

I bought my Miata new as my first car in 1989, and have enjoyed it ever since, putting over a quarter million miles on it over the years. It sits in my garage, alongside more "prestigious" stablemates—a Porsche 911, a Lotus Exige, and and Ariel Atom (among others). But to me, my Miata is the most valuable car in my
