If I wanted a really weird Porsche, it would be the Rinspeed Bedouin thankyouverymuch.

I will be piloting this RUF CTR2 near its 220 mph top speed, while my windshield makes soup out of whatever flying demon-insects patrol Australia's air.
Anyone else?

I will be piloting this RUF CTR2 and making soup out of whatever flying demon-insect Australia has to offer.

Bro, I'm saying the Toyobaru is not a competitor to the Miata. The cars are unfairly put in comparisons because neither have much competition in their segment.

The CD player in my '95 recently quit working. Recently, as in two weeks ago. I'm in no hurry to get it fixed.

I've often thought a k20-swapped Miata would be a blast. Its peaky, high-revving nature seems perfect, and the additional hp would be awesome.

You could get a non-R package Miata with a manual rack too. I almost bought one.

The Smart isn't in the same segment. That's an important word for this discussion.

Yep. The electric car eco-friendliness is to make up for his dirty mouth.

For a minute there I thought you used understated and Countach in the same sentence

"Make a classy, elegant grand touring sports car, and beat Ferrari at its own game."

I completely agree. And it isn't brand snobbery - it's engineering. Porsche beat more powerful Ferraris for years in motorsports because of one thing: reliability. That trickled down to their road cars, which is why some P-cars are bulletproof. Case in point, 911SC.

It's a FWD four-seater. Wouldn't that make it closer to a Cavalier convertible? Being designed to compete with something isn't the same as being its competitor.

If you're going to post the Mercury Capri, you really ought to include this too.

However, the biggest problem I had with the Miata was that the longer I drove it, the less I wanted to drive anything else. The driving experience in the Miata makes almost everything else feel like watered-down bullshit. It offers a nearly unmatched degree of pure fun; this is the only car I've ever driven where I

I love my Miata, but I truly can't imagine a worse cop car.

LOL @ you people, thinking that's a lot of LEDs.

I fully agree. The new Camaro is not the mullet-mobile it once was, but come on. A GT3 is worlds above.
