For sure. I used to commute on a CBR600RR for years. You learn to drive/ride like everyone is trying to run you over. That mindset has kept me safe more than once that’s for sure.

I don’t think you read that article correctly... Big vehicles are more likely to cause fatalities. People in smaller cars are more frequently victims in small car vs big car crashes than in small car vs. any normal sized vehicle.
I have my Veloster N, a lifted Nissan Titan and a Mazda CX5. Despite it having the oldest…
Houston traffic is a bit different than most. Over 70% of vehicles driven on Houston roads are trucks and SUVs. When I leave for work (around 5:15am) the highway I use is heavily leveraged by plant, refinery and construction workers... many driving their lifted bro-dozers at 80mph+. I drive conservatively (5-10mph…
Classic... :)
People like you need to learn how to comprehend the language in front of their eyes before they respond. There wasn’t one utterance of a complaint in my comment.
I love driving around in my Veloster N but can’t imagine driving in a car any smaller than that and feeling safe. Based upon curb weight alone, this seems like quite a bit smaller than the VN. That being said, it would be cool to see them over here in the states.
I don’t have much experience in cars on track, but I spent several years riding/racing sport bikes. I remember one time at a trackday and in an earlier session I’d set my fastest lap ever at that track and I thought I was the man. I was passing everyone in my group. :) My good buddy was an instructor there and had…
People are willing to mortgage their retirements for status symbols like this. The inferiority complex is strong within the American middle class.. people will gobble these things up all day on 7 or 8 year loans just to be able to ‘prove’ they are in a financially better situation than the folks next door.
Even worse during November and December when holiday shopping season hits... I used to live on San Felipe right next to 610. Now we live 25 miles northeast and hoping to move even further away from downtown.
My first mountain bike in the mid 90s it was 3x7. :) Wait until you see your first SRAM Eagle groupset. The big cog on the cassette is bananas... usually a 52t.
N+1... you ALWAYS need another bike. :)
Simplification, weight reduction and with modern cassettes and derailleurs you can get practically the same gearing range... it’s pretty cool tech.
2x12 is pretty rare from what I’ve seen... it’s virtually all 1x12, 1x11 or 2x11. Three of my four mtn bikes are setup 1x11 (the other one is a single speed). My gravel bike is 1x11 and my road bike is 2x11.
Why not something modern like a Surly Karate Monkey? It’s rigid, it’s steel, it’s modern geometry, can easily swap between SS and gears and can handle 29+ wheels and tires. Mine is set up with Stan’s Baron wheels and Panaracer Fat B Nible 29x3.0 tires. It’s heavy, but it rips.
Well truthfully you shouldn’t be landing on one wheel or the other. Proper form and technique, you should be landing both wheels at the same time... regardless of the angle of the landing area.
I purchased a Performance Blue Veloster N back in June... I can’t count on two hands the number of people who’ve pulled up along side of me revving up or gassing it hard trying to get me to play along. And I think the VN flies under the radar compared to a CTR.
Agree... if it the looks were toned down a bit, there’s a good chance I would have ended up with a CTR instead of a Veloster N.
I found the same. I was looking for one locally (metro Houston area) to test drive earlier this year I couldn’t find any with a manual... in one of the largest car markets in the US.
I wonder how many of those crashed in 2009 were related to distracted drivers versus how many in 2019 were... my guess is that 2019 had far more distracted driver deaths. Ban cell phone usage in cars and I bet we’d see a significant drop in crashes and crash related deaths.
Brilliant name... but in this day an age of gender non-assignment, should Sony perhaps consider something like Sony DriveThem?
Then you’re not in true stop and go traffic. :) You can’t do that in Houston rush hour traffic. When traffic stops, you’re often times sitting for 1-2 minutes at a time... then creep forward 100 yards. Rinse and repeat.
