I watched Factory Girl with my parents.

For some reason that drives me crazy too. I was at a funeral a couple of weekends ago for my boyfriend's cousin's grandmother (I know, I know...but I was asked to attend). I came in very appropriate clothing (a knee-length black dress, a cardigan because my shoulders weren't completely covered and I felt it only

Definitely not! Most of the public think of the Oscars as the ultimate film calling card. Sometimes it is—many times, it's not. He just couldn't find work after his win.

No one you've heard of. He's post crew, not cast.

Or the cautionary tale of one friend of the family: His story is so sad, the year after he won his Oscar, he was chauffeuring people to the Oscars because his star had fallen so far that he was employed as a driver.

You know, my boyfriend made me a sort of promise ring when we first began dating. He bought a silver quarter for $3 and filed it down into a ring. I will ALWAYS cherish that ring more than anything else, even though it is cracked and jagged and isn't the prettiest ring out there. It doesn't matter how much or how

In my experience, the band is the hard thing to choose. The gem is much easier, because people usually have an idea of what gem they want, but not necessarily the band.

Oh that's good if you have a relationship with the jeweler—and better that he's almost family! My boyfriend has been going to his jeweler for years (he's NOT wealthy. At all. He is a grad student that's working his way through school. This is just...Jersey) so he knew the guy's work was good and he'd give us a fair

Agreed! I think it's more pressing because they've moved continents together, and her parents refuse to stay with them when visiting because they're living "in sin." I also think he just wants things to remain as they are and that he doesn't want to grow up.

Know what type of clarity you want for the sapphire, and what color! My ring has a 1.1 ct sapphire on it. I'm not a big fan of clarity on the sapphire (the less clarity, the darker blue it is), but the more clarity it is, the more expensive it is (obviously). Have them show you different cuts of sapphire with the

One of my best friends has a hard limit on the proposal deadline. It's in June or July. They've been together for a long time (like, longer than most before they're planning on getting engaged). She will actually break up with him if he doesn't propose. I understand where she's coming from because she doesn't want to

Sorry!! I know I came off as harsh. I have a personal mission to fix "spoon" issue. My bf asks if I want to be the big spoon, and I correct him about it all the time. Now he does it just to annoy me.

THEY ARE THE SAME SIZE SPOON. JUST ONE IS IN BACK.

This has got to be the worst ranking of candy bars I've ever seen. Rollo, above Cadbury?

When I took philosophy in college, this is basically what I did to get a B+ on a paper. But instead of not reading the book, I just rehashed the teacher's lecture and the TA said I had an "obvious understanding of the material." I still have no idea what was taught in philosophy.

I love when teachers make mistakes in our favor. I still feel guilty about not doing the paper or reading the book. It was a Faulkner book...I'm pretty sure it was Light in August, but as this was the Bible Belt, it was about the thousandth Faulkner book we'd read and I was so sick of him by that point.

I once got an A on a paper that I never even wrote. My AP English teacher asked where my paper was, I asked him what he meant, and he said that HE REMEMBERED READING IT, and that I HAD GOTTEN AN A, but that he couldn't find it.

I met all the Power Rangers! My mom took me to the set and I got photos with all of them. A family friend was the stunt double for the pink Power Ranger (as well as being Buffy's stunt double!) and my mom knew the stunt coordinator for the show.

Instead he sacrificed himself.

Oh I also went to college with Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Cristy Carlson Romano. Cristy I had a class with, and she was cool (also way older than the standard college student). I used to FLIP out whenever I saw JTT. I would freeze up and not be able to move. I couldn't help it! I had such a JTT crush in the 90's!!
