So it loses 5 hp and (for better or worse) loses some aggression in its styling. This is one of those times when I would rather have the old one over the new one.
RVs are like boats, the two happiest days of having an RV are the day you buy it and the day you sell it.
I think the problem is it seems most of the people buying these are the rich idiots rolling on 22s to pick up their kids from school.
Yes, has to be the Nismo version too. The base just didn’t look quite as nice.
I would go with the 90s Explorer for basically the same reason. It was credited with kicking off the SUV crazy.
Maybe not really a performance version, but I’ve noticed almost everything now has a “Black,” “Night Shade,” “Dark,” or whatever else they want to call it, trim that makes me think of the Mercedes Black Series, which was a performance upgrade. However every other car with one of these trims boils down to some black…
I love the look and size of the Santa Cruz... but the price and gas milage are terrible for a small truck. I haven’t been interested in trucks in the past largely due to the limited use I would get out of them and the bad mpg, I would get more use out of a truck now days, but I would want a smaller, more affordable…
The Camaro
I agree with you, even if the Santa Cruz is a “lifestyle truck” and it’s meant to go after the Subaru Baja type market, the baja has been gone for a while and I really doubt that market is enough to support the Santa Cruz past a single generation. I will be shocked if the Santa Cruz last very long, it’s too niche.
And don’t forget, the MPGs weren’t really enough to justify having a hybrid in the first place. Many speculate that if this car had an ICE, it would have been much lighter with better HP, and would have translated to better MPGs, along with being faster and handling better.
That is a good one, it didn’t help that if you squinted just a little, it still looked like a neon. Every time I saw one, my first thought was, “Dart? That’s a Neon, you’re not fooling anyone Dodge.”
Love the powertrain idea, “Should’a had a V8" from the beginning... but the truck-bed trunk looks horrible. Storage is not a reason anyone would have bought this car and doubt lack of storage was a big reason for anyone passing on this car. There’s a reason all sports cars aren’t shooting-brake designs - they look…
You know, I feel like if you’re going to go through the trouble of ditching the normal front fork suspension for something like this, you should probably take the time to show it off and do something different in the front. I honestly didn’t even notice the forks were gone at first and now feel like they really missed…
They’re trying to break into that coveted Batman-Fan market.
Don’t know where they are getting this terrible information, because there is no way things like Runts, Candy Corn or Circus Peanuts would break the top ten.
A huge, luxury RV. Nothing better than being able to stand up and move around, go to the bathroom, watch tv or a movie while reclining on a couch that is much more comfortable than a car’s seats.
Surely those massive pillars would have been able to support all the necessary hardware for a hatch.
