Thank you for writing this article :) As someone currently seeking an official diagnosis for Asperger’s via the NHS (UK), it makes me very happy to see articles like this helping to educate the general gaming community about those on the autistic spectrum.

Sadly doesn’t work nicely in Firefox 52 alongside YouTube Center Developer Build 548, but as an alternative you can use an extension called Stylish with a User Style called YouTube Umbra.

As someone who lost a 20+ year-old cat a few years back, spend every day you can showing them how much you love them. It probably won’t make the eventual loss any easier, but it will help you to remember just how good a life they led. Our brains are like Teflon for good memories and Velcro for bad ones.

I’m sadly playing the wait-for-AMD-Vega game whilst my current graphics card (HD 6950) is too underpowered to run any of the newer games I really wish to play.

I am still very much looking forward to playing Civ VI but unless someone gifts it to me, I don’t want to break my rule of buying games only when they’re >=50% off.

Patience is a virtue, but it can be irritating sometimes with games you really want rather than just would like to have.

Thought the same thing.

I guess I’ve built / upgraded / fixed too many PCs now for me to be in the majority here, as I no longer find builds daunting at all. Then again, I built my first PC about 15 years ago, so I’m not exactly a figurative spring chicken any more!

For anyone new to building PCs though, I would like to make one clear

Thank you for this information. I have relatively-mild repetitive strain injury (RSI) and manage it carefully myself, but it’s lovely to know about this group nonetheless.

In the efforts of helping others with RSI / Carpal Tunnel, I’d like to recommend looking into a vertical mouse (particularly the Evoluent series of

I hope that teacher put appropriate effort into correcting the behaviour of the student who took her pencil: that’s the real issue here, not a child using a geeky reference to basically call that thief a jerk.

“on accident” --> “by accident”

*shudders*

To be honest, I prefer the glitches. The “crazy kills” don’t really interest me. I’d rather see physics gone wrong or people falling through levels.

It’s about time. I winced when I saw this as a Wii U exclusive when it launched and am glad that it’s now coming to other platforms in an improved state.

Also, missing out co-op on a Lego game for the original...? Were they high or something when some prat made that decision?

The reply to the pricing element shows just how out-of-touch many developers are with your average consumer. I can somewhat deal with 67% thinking it’s “appropriate”, though I definitely disagree vehemently, but it’s the “25%” saying it’s cheap that leaves a bad taste in my mouth, especially when you take into account

Should have used non-actors from across the poorer sections of the UK. As a Brit myself, I know how much fear the look of British teeth inspires around the world, especially in America. (In reality of course, we actually have very healthy teeth. White =/= healthy or natural.)

This reminds me very strongly, in a good way, of other uplifting stories I’ve read on Kotaku over the last few years of how different video games can help people to manage to keep on going in spite of what live cruelly throws at them.

It might have been this article from 2012 that I’m thinking of in particular, along

I disagree that “godrays” sound cooler/better than “crepuscular rays”.

For one, the term “godray” is overly theistic. For another, it sounds like a layman’s term: good for explaining to someone, but not the one you’d really want to ideally use.

Not trying to be arsey here at all, just trying to provide a counter-point

Or it will be seen as a console concept that was poorly conceived, poorly named and poorly advertised, but which did have a few gems of games in spite of this.

In other words, it’s Nintendo’s Dreamcast.

Pfft. F-Zero’s been more overlooked. Give me that first :)

A big YES to the SNES-themed one.

Cautiously optimistic on this, but the devil will be in the details, particularly the launch line-up, specs and price.

Won’t get one at launch though, whatever happens.
