I haven’t paid much attention to this story (in general) and just sort of skimmed the article because it was over-the-top strident but:

Jesus Fucking Christ. Elizabeth Warren never claimed to be Native American. She tells people stories about how her grandparents told her stories about how one of her ancestors was Native American.

The media and the Republican party had no problem demanding that Warren take a DNA test. The media does not consider Pocohontas a racist attack and have no problem amplifying conservative attacks that baselessly accuse Warren of lying about her race for benefits.

Exactly. She’s not claiming or expecting anything except to prove an asshole wrong. It’s really past time that Democrats/Progressives/Liberals stop being so nice and get our hands dirty and quit letting the lies and the craziness coming out of Republican mouths stand like it’s normal and we have to be “above the fray”…

Warren NEVER claimed to be a formal member of any tribe, just that family lore had it that she was descended from Native Americans. She was mocked and vilified for this. But that lore now has been very strongly buttressed by DNA testing.

So a woman is routinely attacked by the president and his cronies with lies and slander claiming she’s full of it...she finally says enough is enough and does test to prove the truth of her claim, and you pillory her for it.

Yeah, this is one of Krueger’s worst takes in a long list of bad takes, and a lot of the comments are echoing these same fucking stupid sentiments. By contributing to the left eating their own, they’re making republicans happy (and russian trolls get to take the day off).

In 18 months, Warren will be public enemy #1 here at Splinter. Maybe even sooner.
