Repeat after me: Water is not a fuel. Hydrogen is not a fuel. Hydrogen is an energy storage medium.

Hopefully it’s an ecoboost 4 banger with head gasket issues.  Fingers crossed!

Careful Mahindra. Stray too far and you’ll have Rockstar Games on your ass as well:

Police will have to go back to throwing sticks through the spokes.

Can someone tell me how Chrysler was able to later use the model name ‘Diplomat’?  Was there a fierce legal battle?  Or was it more like, “Ay, ya wankers.  Go ahead and take it.”?

I would have called and made a deposit on that had I seen the article earlier today.  Holy crap!

I bet this fucker costs more than my first house.

We get it. He doesn’t do things the way you would. So what? Don’t read his articles then. Having personally met David, I would say that he completely embodies the jalop spirit and I thoroughly enjoy reading about his adventures.

WTF is a base layer?

WTF is a base layer?

Every time I climbed out of my velvety interior 1980's Chrysler Fifth Avenue, I felt like I was exiting the womb.

Fake diff and traction bars aside, I’m keen on the look!  Hate me.

Friends of mine rented a car in Scotland while on their honeymoon using a debit card. Got in a bad car wreck that totaled the car. Rental agency put a many thousands of dollars hold on their account. Checking balance went to zero and outstanding written checks (rent, student loan payment, and a couple of utility bills

That darned Dingo!

You’d still need to handle the tongue weight of a heavy trailer and would increase risk of the tail wagging the dog as the ratio of trailer weight to vehicle weight increases.  Some of that could be managed by a smart control system in the trailer, but that all goes out the window in low traction scenarios.

I would add that there could be a liability issue in that a powered trailer may empower some users to try to tow a way too heavy trailer with a tiny car (which they can attempt and sometimes successfully do already). Negating the power limitation of the towing vehicle would remove another barrier to doing something

But here’s the key: the trailer’s electronics would interface to the car’s electronics so the trailer’s motor would be “throttled” by the car’s electronics providing much needed boost hauling itself, but would never be allowed to overpower the car’s speed, causing (I assume) the trailer to jackknife for an accident.

Methinks the state parks are going to have to upgrade their electric hookups to the sites to accommodate all the recharging!

Much like my thoughts on the Honda Ridgeline, I’ll believe these things are legitimate trucks the day I see more than one real farmer using one to haul cattle.

As a mechanical engineer, I have been pondering such an idea for some time.  Yes it would reduce the trailer’s capacity, but in our electric future we’ll have to make some compromises.
