On my 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid, B mode increases regenerative braking aggressiveness and makes the car close to one-pedal driving. Driving at any speed in B mode in it is no less efficient than the regular mode, you just have to use the brake pedal less. You also cannot use cruise control when in B mode.

Those spots, officially referred to as quench marks, are ultimately the result of how the light reflects through the rear window.
