Oh, the problems of affluent white people.... soooo terrible.

Have you ever installed a child seat? The lower anchors are easy enough to release and reattach. The upper tether anchor is a PITA when you don’t have access to the back side of the seat you’re attaching to. Plus having to do this every time you go somewhere is even more of a PITA.

Or better yet, the 3rd row lacks the proper anchors to mount your kid seats, so you have to put them in the 2nd row. This means you can’t fold the 2nd row to allow adults or bigger kids to get to the 3rd row. So they end up climbing through the hatch and over the back of the 3rd row, just like 1983 all over again.

“the third row is basically useless for anything but a short jog to the ice cream shop with the grandkids.” - as long as those grandkids aren’t in 3-point child seats, then good fucking luck getting back there to strap them in.

I figured it was cheaper since it had been in inventory so long, it was almost fully depreciated.

Way to go, David! I’m so pleased seeing your Jeep doing what you set out for it to do. Your journey is nothing short of amazing.

Missed one:

Wile E Coyote was last seen staggering from the vehicle with two black eyes, a huge lump on his head, and little tweeting birds circling above him:

I shall buy these and modify them with chrome spray paint dispensers so they can be rebranded as Mad Max Motor Dream cribs. “I had a baby brother! And he was perfect in every way”:

I can only hope that he was running around, befuddled, like Wikus van der Merwe in District 9:

No inspections in MI.

I have to say that the little Matrix held up quite well and did exactly what it was supposed to despite the bus completely overtopping the back bumper. I’d hate to see what would have happened had this been a Sonic or a Smart Car.

Well, this little incident involving being rear-ended while stopped by a speeding school bus drove us to a larger vehicle. The bumper of the bus was less than a foot from the back of my 2 year-old’s head.

It was that head-on shot that I was referring to. They look the same size in these photos.

We did well with an Accord after our first kid. After the 2nd was born, we had to go a bit bigger as the Accord was stuffed to the gills when we traveled for the holidays.

Which would be why I said, “This car (or rather the driver’s compartment) is too small.”

I have had my ‘53 up to 60+ mph, but the engine is screaming to do so. And in David’s case any vibrations and rattles he’s experiencing would be highly amplified.

Plus there’s the aspect of 4 wheel, single circuit, drum brakes.

Find me a better designed smaller car that will tow 3500# and I’m game.
