The 1981 Cadillac V8-6-4 engine. It featured cylinder deactivation allowing it to run on 4, 6, 0r 8 cylinders depending on power needs. The engine itself worked great but the deactivation system suffered major problems, mostly related to insufficient processing speed and capability with the onboard computer system.
