I'd love to have one of these. That said I don't think I'd want to daily drive it in the US, and here's why:
They had two engines offered actually. The base SOHC single point FI 1.6 making 70hp and the optional high-revving 1.8l DOHC CA18DE making about 130hp.
On second look it doesn't look like the Wiki article mentions it. But I recall they were concerned about foreign object damage from chunks of ice being sucked in during their attempt to push back using the engines being a contributing factor in the crash.

You really don't want to use the engines for pushback, especially not in freezing weather.
There was a draw bar hooked up to the nosewheel and it looked like it was attached to a vehicle though we can't see what it was. If the plane's wheels were indeed frozen to the ground I'm sure the tug was just spinning its tires.
What can I say, they've got me by the balls.

Amtrak seems to be pretty immune to sudden price surges due to weather. For example, traveling right in the thick of things from Washington DC to Boston, TODAY, only costs $209... and with two days notice it costs under $200.
