Instead find engaging things for them to do for some of the time, be creative as you can (example: watch an episode of Samurai Jack - and then have them go off and find details of the various art forms and styles you & they saw) - and let them ‘be kids’ for…

One of the finest meals I have EVER had was large sardines in a small restaurant in Siracusa, Sicily fresh off the plane... It felt like an instant drop into a different culture with so very much history...
