I don’t know if this really counts, but when I was pregnant with my oldest I was really excited for my baby shower. My sister in law refused to let my sister’s throw one for me. When I asked why, one of them said to 6-month-pregnant-super-emotional me, “Because, sometimes, babies die.” I cried for a week.
