@Ben,

@Chairman Kaga: The Camry makes an appearance in the next 007 movie.

@gman1023: the Prius isn't the best at anything

@Jagvar: Is the ASMA grille made of rubber? need one of those to wedge my garage door open.

The front is nice, but without the crazy see-through doors and layered rear of the EfficientDynamics, it runs out of a steam and falls back to ye olde flame surfacing.

@BlueBomb: It's comical to see people getting worked up about batteries.

@eggwich del fiero: The USA has no regulations for CO2 output (yet). It does have standards for CO (carbon monoxide), but looking at [www.dieselnet.com] , even the CARB LEV II standard is comparable to Europe. I think it's the California NOx (nitric oxide)and PM (particulate matter) standards that are about 10x

@Sam: That 2009 model is an obscene gas guzzler at 1.38 L/100 km (170 mpg-US) :-) The original 2007 model supposedly reached 0.99 L/100 km (238 mpg-US). Note same license plate, and uneasy look of German GmbH burgher in the cockpit.

@Sam: The Prius gets 72 mpg on the same Euro cycle in the same Imperial gallons.

@IronicalBalls: Even in Europe where there are lots of nifty diesels we can't get in the USA, the Prius is the most economical car in its class ("L-Family" at WhatGreenCar UK). Its 72 MPG (imperial gallons Euro cycle) beats 62 MPG of the VW Passat Saloon 1.6 CR TDI 105 PS, and the Prius CO2 is lower. And I don't

@Tiptoetherat: Over and over we (gear heads) have been able to poke holes in the cars "green" abilites.

It sounds like they're taking the cheap unthinking route to LEED green building certification:

@brandegee: Yup, Wikipedia says 944 was 1982-1991 and 968 was 1992-1995. "AdEater" (?) must have mis-dated the ad.
