The Lexus HS 250h will offer the economy of the 2010 Toyota Prius

@Mitchell Phelps: Hey Facebook bozo, here on Gawker properties we value things like capitalizing sentences, avoiding misspellings and abbreviations, and using appropriate punctuation.

Not giving kWh capacity, size, weight, or manufacturer for the battery pack makes me a little dubious.

Every hybrid should be plug-in, it's a no-brainer. Even if the battery pack is tiny and only stores ~1.7 kWh of energy (like the 2008 Prius and regular Escape Hybrid), plugging it in at home to recharge it for pennies is always going to be the cheapest and least polluting way to drive the first few miles.

Same 0-60 as the Tesla Roadster, for I assume a lot mo' money (Audi R8 4.2 and Tesla Roadster cost an identical $109,000).

@Cognitive_Friction: I always thought the perfect application for the Segway/Winglet would be as a golf cart.

Yay Amurrrica! Fine sedan, but this is not the "most fuel-efficient mid-size car", just sedan. The Toyota Prius is mid-size (substantially narrower, but more front head room and rear leg room) and gets 48/45 vs. 41/36.

Experience proves it's a chassis mule from Lotus stuffed with batteries, with screaming paint job and a dozen ELECTRIC decals slapped all over.

Chrysler LeBaron, the only car that can deliver a punchline.

Thanks @discontinuuity for showing us all what a solar-driven car has to look like.

@Bubs: Your baseless generalizations are full of crap. Especially when talking about endangered species, lots of people are quite responsive to the plight of non-photogenic species like moths and the snail darter fish.

@boosted-lego-wagon: Plus the ASSXPLOD audio package: custom BROOMMMMMMMMPPPPPP-BRRRRRROMMMMPPPPPP-creak-rattle-rattle speakers stapled into inappropriate holes cut into the interior. Stylin'!

If commenters are trying to prove an update to the most economical least-polluting new car sold in America (besides the Tesla Roadster) is boring, tediously predictable comments make the car shine in comparison.

@smsolo1: It's just another issue for a car that hasn't even made production yet.

BYD is a battery company that bought its way into car manufacturing, so maybe it'll stick with batteries. Warren Buffet invested in them.

She should have done a cheesecake spread with the Aston Martin Lagonda. Curves, meet edges!
