For whatever reason, a lot of people have come to the conclusion that if a star wars game or movie is going ot be successful, it has to have the same things as earlier installments. Ive never met anyone who would refuse to see a new movie or play a new game just because a handful of old characters werent in it.

People don’t want a 1 for 1 remake. They want something that still resembles the game they liked. A remake is a matter of compromise between new and old. And a lot of people worry too much old is being sacrificed, without strong enough new stuff to make up for it.

and the next time, still before you’ve even seen the guy (im pretty sure), you see that giant snake he’s just impaled. The one that will, unless you already know what you’re doing, will obliterate your team. It definitely made Sephiroth more menacing.

The big problem with it, and why it will be terrible, is its doing the only thing square enix knows how to do anymore: Real time combat where most of it is done by computer allies out of your control to make things look better than they are.

They’re going to screw it up, you know. We all know. Its going to be awful. Oh, I’m sure mechanically it’ll be fine. Square Enix is good at making games that play well. As long as they can force you to use real-time combat and have computer controlled teams (and they will.)

I disagree. I like games that take a while. Fast forwarding ruins the experience. Not only that, but you can’t just burn through battles if the game is any good. You have to plan things out. If you don’t have to do any work for the battles, its probably a bad game anyway.
