um they wont need to. under Chairman Trump they will learn how to work the system and take their money back from the corrupt government who just wastes their wages on things like roads and schools. why, i was just driving on a road and it was fine. why does the government need money for something that is fine? to line

Right? I keep crossing my fingers, and spitting, and throwing salt over my shoulder. I’m on the verge of burning sage and floating stick rafts out on my lake.

Early polls since the debate seem to reflect that fact, but my faith in this country has really been shaken at this point. That it’s even gotten this close in the first place horrifies me, so I won’t be optimistic until November 9th rolls around and we’re getting preparations underway to swear in President Clinton

It’s a shame that his supporters don’t can’t read newspapers.

Don’t vote for Gary Johnson either. He may be smarter than Trump but not by a whole lot.

I wish a reporter would ask him how much his experience as a rapist helped him in writing the rape scene in his movie.

So much for his profound sorrow over the rape victim and her suicide. Knew it the second this shithead uttered the words. Studio told him to do it and they probably even wrote the tearful statement. Dude is as entitled as ever, he never changed.

Take. A. Turn. He thinks that’s normal.

I was going to see this because it looks amazing and because Gabrielle Union gave those pretty interesting interviews and wrote that powerful Op-Ed but I can’t with this dude. I won’t give him my money.

I don’t trust the character of someone who apparently feels no guilt about his part in a night that led to someone’s suffering and suicide. I can’t imagine doing anything that led to such an outcome and then not feeling guilty about it, whether my actions were deplorable or completely innocuous.

This is like my inlaws, they just can not believe that our combined income wouldn’t be enough for a bigger house in the suburbs and at least 2 kids. Things do not cost what they cost 30+ years ago, and wages have not come up at anywhere close to the same rate.

How about those of us who are ambivalent, and feel like cost makes the decision for us? I mean I don’t want or need pity. I don’t know that I’d want kids. I do know I can’t afford them.

Without fail, it’s always, “Well all kinds of people make it work. Poorer people than you have kids. And we can help.”

I wonder though how many of these people are paying their monthly bills, and day care, but ALSO saving for retirement. Even if I were to scrape by for a few years and manage child care costs, I don’t think it’s smart (depends on age too, I suppose) to not be putting 10-20% of income away for retirement.

Cue people who don’t see that some don’t have because of the cost of childcare. It must really suck to want kids and realize you can’t provide for them.

Was sorta considering trying to get pregnant soon. This article and responses has absolutely terrified me. Bravo to all of you that are somehow making this work because this seems impossible on a financial level.

I’m living for this convo, and I wasn’t even there. Keep going... What was their response???

Exactly. Having a kid (and paying for childcare because our health insurance is through my job and we still need my husband’s income,so we both need to work) would take us from “Earning enough to own a small home, put money away for the future, and go on a carefully-budgeted vacation every year” to living basically

This is why I have no idea how people in my income bracket (which should absolutely be enough to live comfortably) have kids. It’s also the tipping point on my decision to have kids or not. I’m in Canada, but the prices seem pretty similar based on what my friends pay.
