You get a press card, which should allow accreditation to press conferences. It’s basic stuff.

To be fair, as a presser veteran I will say no credentials usually means no entry, no matter what. I certainly believe they’re not well-pleased with Smith but it’s possible that whomever was manning the door had no idea who he was and it was simply a case of ‘Sorry, dude, place is jammed and if you aren’t properly…
