It seems that Alabama’s reaction to Roy Moore is, in part, a middle finger to Washington Republicans who essentially tried to give away their senate seat to Luther Strange as a reward for dropping an investigation into the Republican govener.

Did they start calling them “approximations” in order to shut up the pedantic assholes who kept saying that the dinosaurs really aught to have feathers?

A lot of people feel like the universe lacks a sense of narrative. I think that is a big part of the reason religion exists. At some of my lowest moments I’d find myself thinking, “You know, this is the part of the movie where the guy finds the superpower granting ring, or meets the mysterious stranger, or gets pulled…

It won’t make any difference as to getting Republicans to take harassment seriously whether Franklin goes or stays. Sure, it will make it easier for them to rationalize doing nothing, but they will still do nothing either way.

I suspect that deep down they DO know Moore is a molester. Otherwise they wouldn’t need to invent an elaborate conspiracy to convince themselves that what is obviously true isn’t. That they are still good and rational people despite the fact that they knew that they were going going to vote for the Republican no…

I think it is also fear on NBC’s part. They don’t want to take the smallest chance of being seen as supporting that kind of talk in this current climate. How long has it been since “it was just a joke!” was a viable defense?

I admit it, this is becoming so frequent I don’t click on the headlines anymore. It’s like: Hm, another prominent man goes down due sexual allegations. Oh, and it’s going to snow tomorrow!
