"If you consider your target - her composition, her dimensions, her sheer velocity - you could fire every nuke you've got at her and she'd just smile at you and keep on coming."

Nicely done.

Could of.

What? Oh. I'll show myself out.

There are a bunch of problems with the selection of pornstars in this study - it doesn't use a random sampling, for starters. Self-selection bias is a big deal. Also, they picked only actresses who had made at least one pornographic movie, and were members/users of AIM.

But still... life finds a way.

I want this so very much, but they won't ship it to Canada. Also, I worry that drinking scotch for 25 straight days might make me a little bit too awesome.

They are missing Alt-F4

Maybe he's in the studio?

Given that the pre-history of the Halo universe directly contradicts the biblical origin story, you probably have bigger epistemological fish to fry than BCE vs. BC, no?

It seems like seismologists, generally, don't agree with the discharged energy theory. Does that matter? If the scientists in

As is outlined in the article, all those scientists took part in a meeting with the deputy director, who then advised the press, based on what he was told by the scientists. I'm not saying they committed manslaughter, by the way. But "failed to predict an earthquake" is a strawman.

I (and the text of the article itself) disagree. That's ok though, how boring would it be if everyone always agreed?

"The scientific community tells me there is no danger because there is an ongoing discharge of energy,"

I posted elsewhere, but it looks like that is indeed what they did. They were asked to assess the risk of a major earthquake in light of the minor ones they had experienced, and told the press "The scientific community tells me there is no danger because there is an ongoing discharge of energy."
