Wait...so the world is complaining that a game developer is making girls that are too Homely , but simultaneously the games industry is being attacked for objectifying women?
I'm still surprised there was no outrageous, "Snape kills Dumbledore moment" where everything was ruined for the audience by people who had read it. It was different from the book so it still managed to surprise me. Now I feel like even I won't know what happens, no matter how 'prepared' I might be.
I didn't even realize it was CGI until they got into the club. Then thought at first that it might be CGI mixed with live-action. *phew* that was purty, and really cool. I hope gameplay and story matches all that they are setting up.
First job @ 16 was Quiznos Subs, while I believe everyone should be in food services and retail at some point to have respect and learn what it's like to be on that side, I would rather get work experience applicable to my field now.
This article may have just given me hope that Kotaku is not on a complete downward spiral.
I'm not defending the company at all. If a company sucks, people talk about it and they get what they deserve. Wonderful services like glassdoor exist today that would never have been fathomable before. The conditions people have today are glorious compared to what people had in the past. The fact that you throw…
You do realize, that you sign up knowing it is a contract job. You don't get TRICKED into temp work. People get hired en masse to work on the census. Teenagers everywhere get hired for seasonal work and get worked to the BONE. This happens everywhere.
Last time I checked, we live in a competitive and capitalist society where you are rewarded for your hard work. I went from serving sandwiches the minute I got a job permit while going to school to where I am now. The reason I even started at serving sandwiches and not something else tragic is because my mother and…
This was all worth that picture.
Hey, you feel one way, you stick to it. More power to you :)
Here's the problem. Film making, Video Game design and development and other careers have a rare problem. People WANT the jobs. They are careers that attract LOTS of people. No one WANTS to be a garbage truck driver, no one WANTS to be a janitor. When I got stuck without a career after college, I took WHATEVER job I…
I think this comment system is the problem lol. My comment wasn't stating that either route had a greater chance at achieving success. I was replying to the comment above stating that one would be BETTER off, working at a coffee shop instead. I think we're actually sharing the same views and misinterpreted one…
I totally feel your pain. After graduating with a degree I thought I'd get placed into a great job right away. I went from minimum wage working at a quiznos serving up sandwhiches when I was 16 to 10 bucks in retail to 15 in college to 25, and I was just thinking I couldn't possibly go down after graduating, straight…
Did you read my post? "People go from mail clerk to the top floor sometimes."
What's really sad is some people are reading this who are unemployed and would kill to be in his shoes.
Working at the Coffee stand will never lead to you becoming CEO of your own coffee company, unless you pull something amazing, which I don't doubt. People go from mail clerk to top floor sometimes.
This is a reality everywhere. You are hired as a contractor, this is the risk being a contracted employee.
Look at the big brains on Brad! Don't know why that line came to mind after reading your post but sincerely, thank you for actually thinking and posting a reasonable answer :)
Jelly Fish is helping yes....summarizes my feelings exactly at that moment when I witnessed it as a child.
