Maybe a valid criticism, but I was rolling with the comment above which I took as a bit of sarcasm. I work with many experts and with 38 years in my field I’ve even been called one occasionally, so I do respect the hard earned knowledge that comes with dedication to a field. Still, it’s valid to question an expert

What always amazes me is how crisp, curved, precise, and flowing, the lines of these drawings are ... like they are well practiced.

Nah...

some dick tagged over a nice bit of volcanic art with his stupid deer tag... thug ass cave men...no respect for art.

What I think is amazing is the beauty of the artwork; considering that you had some primitive human drawing from memory (ie no snapshot original, nor subject in view), on the rough wall/ceiling of a cave, largely in the dark (by candle or flickering torchlight), using what amounts to burnt tips of sticks.

Tilt it 90 degress to the right and it looks like two deers heads. One is mounted above the other. The back legs of the one in the rear are a little stylized, but little imagination can tell you what they are probably doing. The artist seemed to have added emphasis to the area of action.

By 40,000 years you mean 2000 years cause the earth is only 2000 years years old!
