Definitely don't read Ilium or Olympos.

The first one is the best, and definitely one of the top five sci-fi novels of all time for me.

Well… now you know.

Was I unclear about my comment being an opinion? Does that make it invalid?

I'm sure I'm not the only one reminded of the interview Fugazi did with the 8th grade girl on Instrument.

Not that it would go over better otherwise, but for me there was an extra level of outrage since Thompson is one of the least funny people I've ever seen on SNL.

All you had to do was fight the damn rock, Dwayne!

I'd be interested to know how much consecutive episode viewing has increased ever since they added the "playing next episode in 15 seconds" feature. My wife and I would probably watch half as much TV without that feature.

There were quite a few successful posts criticizing the GTA V review, and not just because it was less than glowing.

Not sure if anyone read the Gameological update, but it says John Teti has accepted the Senior Editor position here at the AV Club.

Agreed on that bit.

I loved it too - couldn't put it down.

The fact that we learn about Himself's descent through the eyes of his children also made it a lot more tragic for me.

@Walkerk:disqus Sorry, bro.
I hope you finished the book.  If it's any consolation from me, reading these comments 3 months late, this is probably one of the most spoiler-proof books ever.  At least in the sense that it's probably not going to ruin too much of your enjoyment.

He never met a science project he loved more than his own hair.

They lost me when they said that being overweight (a word which they reject, by the way) has nothing to do with being unhealthy.

Didn't you guys know that weight is almost 100% hereditary, just like height?  Physics be damned!

I'm pretty sure those already exist.  People have been getting awful tattoos for quite some time now.

@avclub-bca3531762af8a993c4f60c48fd5e33b:disqus What's hilarious about that is how many likes it has, considering it was from well before the "like" era, meaning that many people have gone back and viewed it in the last year or two.

Yeah, comparing it to serial torture/murder is definitely the way to go.
