The cost of living went down until 2 years later you had to replace these hunks of junk because they rusted out so quickly.

Fortunately for Honda, most people don’t remember how absolutely awful their cars were for quality and durability back then.

Strange? Without a doubt.

Also incredibly intuitive and ergo-friendly. Drive one for awhile and everything seems natural and all other designs seem grotesquely complicated.

I’d like to know how long the line in this video was in terms of minutes. The story only refers to the waits the previous day. Long lines do not necessarily equal long waits. In fact, queueing theory will tell you that a single long line serving multiple stations actually will give you the shortest wait time over

2nd: I don’t feel sorry for Honda. Considering the evidence that they knew about the problem years ago, its their own fault.

Climate control would suck some significant power. But a laptop battery is about 50 Wh on average and lasts a couple hours. I’ve seen some machines with ~75 Wh batteries that can last over 12 hours. For reference, that means using 0.1% of the battery capacity of a Tesla Model S with the 75 kWh battery installed.

Battery warranty is 8 years / 100k miles.

Cost for a replacement has been all over the place. I’ve seen GM dealers offering replacement batteries for $2200 and then the same dealer offering them later for $7000. MSRP has fluctuated wildly, too.

“Real pragmatists know that if want to be “green” you can buy a small used car with fuel economy high in the 30s and zero industrial production waste”

Sorry, but “zero industrial production waste” simply doesn’t exist.

Anyone actually have these? Are they actually any good? I saw them yesterday at a local store at significantly better prices - $25 for the 100 ft. version....

Putting in a prefab tunnel would potentially reduce the navigable depth of the river to ~20 ft at its deepest unless you dredged out a significant trench to sink the tunnel. Then you’d still have the challenge of tunneling from the prefab back to the lines that already exist.

Its sad how bad our mass transit functions and looks. While so much of the USSR was a complete disaster, I do remember using their mass transit and being floored by how efficient, clean, and, fancy it was compared to ours.

Seriously? Those satellites don’t have anywhere near the resolution, accuracy, or real-time availability necessary to pinpoint the fine level of data needed to understand tornadoes.

5th: Yes, they’re nuts in thinking they’ll be able to achieve that goal.

But they also might have to if they want to survive. Their financials are still pretty darned ugly.

Because Tesla has never come close to meeting its promised production dates?

A 20 point movement really isn’t that big. I’ve seen my score jump 48 points in a single month before with no significant changes in actual details on my record. I’ve also seen it drop as much as 29 points in a single month with no clear underlying explanation (lower mortgage balances and cc balances at reporting time

With all due respect, in your story about selling your Mazda3, you wouldn’t have come off too well to the potential buyer, either. Why? Because you told him you wouldn’t take $10.5k when the dealer was offering $11k, but failed to mention what a threshold price would be to consider taking the private party deal. The

Batteries are much cheaper for large manufacturers. GM has been paying ~$150/kWh. Some new tech is looking promising for hitting closer to $30/kWh, but that’s a ways off still...

There had better be other features added as part of that markup. My first impression was similar to yours. That’s a huge markup for a small benefit otherwise. Maybe they’re trying to finally reach profitability....

Well, my friend, you’re an ignorant ass.

The person tailgating and driving recklessly precludes any movement.

Because Tesla’s service model is MUCH more expensive than anything at Lexus, Infiniti, Audi, BMW, Cadillac, or Mercedes.

I thought the same, but then we don’t see all the details - if they’re taking a block of rubber and heating it to press it into the hole and fuse the plug with the surrounding tire, then cutting off the excess, the extra weight essentially wouldn’t exist.
