I went out to run an errand at lunch, and I spotted this. I .... I don’t even know what to say. This is amazing.
Good news: my wife and I have bred our very own scooter gang.
Sorry I’ve been pretty much absentee around here lately. I’ve been pretty much entirely focused on running the Gambler 500 in the RallyMetro. Now I’m trying to get it ready for a rallycross this weekend.
Most of you have read a lot about how much fun this stuff is. It’s not been a great year for the northern division of Stateline Rallycross. Car counts have dropped way down since this spring. The last three events have been canceled. They need eight more registered drivers by midnight Wednesday, or all remaining…
My youngest has become obsessed with this book about Amelia Earhart. We’ve read it every night for the last two plus weeks. She gleefully points to the pictures and exclaims, “Plane! That’s a plane!”
When I first read David Tracy’s article about the Detroit Gambler 500 this spring, I thought, “That looks like an insane amount of fun. I’d like to try that someday.” Then I promptly forgot all about it. Cut to about a month and a half ago, when the owner of Stateline Rallycross contacted me, wondering if the…
The RallyMetro lives to fight another day! After two days, hundreds of miles, and a gestimated 16 hours at WOT, the only thing it needs is an oil change and a right front wheel bearing. It’s one tough little donkey!
So this happened. And it was a successful operation doctor. I’m thinking of starting a new business: RallyMetro recovery service.
Been a crazy day so far, and a crap-ton of fun. We’ve wound our way around the highways and byways, gravel roads dirt roads, an off-road park, a water crossing. Tons of good people in rediculous vehicles. No less than three General Lee tributes. Stopping for a quick lunch now. Here some pics.
Tomorrow morning we roll! Gambler 500-Illinois here we come!
I just got word that my cousin died from gall bladder removal went wrong. I just saw her a few weeks ago, for the first time in a few years ... at her dad’s funeral. She had two little kids. A girl who is the spitting image of her, and a little boy too.
Anybody know if the Jalopnik bump still applies, if the sticker is bootleg? Asking for a friend.
I found this beast on the curb this morning. Luckily it was right by school, because I had to run and grab some long boards out of my wood room to load it into my truck.
I’m going to piggy-back on Fintail’s post from yesterday.
My buddy finally had time to weld my scooter exhaust back together. I’ve come to learn this is a weak point of the Super 8. The muffler is really heavy, and only held on by two bolts. He decided to brace the repair with a piece of angle iron, so hopefully it doesn’t happen again. He also apologized about 20 times for…
Honda V-twin cruiser. Nice upright riding position. Good sound, but not super loud. Doesn’t vibrate crazily like a Harley. Dual sport tires. I’d rock it.
I honestly can’t remember the last time I made a Hot Wheels haul. The pegs have been so consistently bare at every store near me, that I really had given up even hunting. This morning I stopped by a local grocery store chain that I rarely go to. They stock the coffee I like in big bags, so I only go when the coffee…
All the Stateline Rallycross stickers have been stuck. The oil has been topped off. I thought about changing it, but nope. The CB radio is installed. I even installed a navigation system.
I’m going to speak in the broadest of terms here. Enough of you know my real name as it is, and I don’t want to paint too specific of a picture here. Besides, my frustrations have nothing to do with the specifics of what prompted me to finally write this anyways.
Today’s Micro Monday is another one sent by Vdubyajohn. Its a casting I’d never seen before, and with those wheels I thought it was a knock-off, but the base confirms that it is indeed a genuine Micro Machine.
