Delivering pizza in an aging Audi.
Hammer has been exceptionally playful this week. I think we’ve played more this week, than in the last six months combined.
I made a small score at Savers this weekend, this Burago 1:43 Porsche 959.
Last month Nate13 requested to see this Micro Machine. It’s a Chevy LUV with a drop in camper, from the Super Micro Lights series. The headlights, taillights, and camper windows should light up when you press down on it. They don’t anymore, however. Still a really cool model though!
We got 9" overnight Thursday and into Friday. School was cancelled, and we were supposed to get up to 14". First thing that happened when I went outside was fall on my ass. My wife and I, and the neighbor across the street dug out and extracted the rwd Lexus belonging to the college girl from Florida renting out my…
The local Walmart currently has two full Japanese Historics 2 sets. I didn’t buy them, but we’re currently getting bombed with snow, and school is closed tomorrow. I’m sure they’ll still be there tomorrow if someone wants one.
I made a trip yesterday to the Walmart near work yesterday, hoping to find the ‘47 Chevy truck. I didn’t find that, but much to my surprise I found new Auto Worlds! I didn’t find a single new AW in 2017. The ones I did get, came from y’all. The Walmarts around here had been dry for so long, that most of them pulled…
Today we have another 1:144 Racing Champions. This Dodge Ram is period perfect street truckin’. Gotta love it!
There’s a T-Rex. It’s driving. This is excellent.
This 1:144 scale Racing Champions Matco funny car is from my massive Secret Super gift. It was in a beat up card, so I liberated it. I have maybe a dozen or so of these little guys from Racing Champions, and they’re really nice pieces. They’re well detailed and we’ll proportioned. I wish they’d bring them back. I…
I made some comments on the FP about financing new cars that got quite a big response this morning (ok, technically yesterday, but whatever). I had several people reply to me. Here’s where it gets weird: they were all civil and rational responses and discussions.
If you look front and center in the picture of my messy workbench from last week, you can see a mock-up of an idea I had for a flatbed tow truck.
This is such an early Micro Monday, that it’s not even Monday in my time zone yet. I can’t sleep though, so let’s just do this thing now.
A couple weeks ago I was hanging out with a friend of mine. He’s a collector who has commented here a couple times in the past, but I know him personally. I can’t remember how it came up, but I told him the story of giving away most of my diecasts when I was maybe 14 years old. Most of what I gave away, I don’t…
A couple weeks ago, I took some requests for Micro Monday. Herr Quatrro wanted to see the German stripe van. This is one of the first Micro Machines I got, meaning I’ve had it for around about 30 years now. It’s a great casting of a 70's Dodge van, and I love this paint job.
We’ve got an unseasonably warm evening here in Chicagoland. It’s 52 degrees outside. I love the sweet relief of these occasional nights. They make the long cold winter not so bad. I cracked a nice root beer, put some tunes on, and am going to enjoy an hour or two tinkering in Shop-Teacher’s home for wayward tiny…
