I haven’t been able to get much done on the kitchen lately, and I finally carved out the bulk of a weekend to start working on the trim. Two pietin, and I dropped my trusty old jig saw. It’s an old DeWalt that I paid $25 for, but it’s been a great tool. And now I’ve murdered it. The shoe is bent into oblivion.
Really Dude? Really????
No SR20, because driving, but I just saw dude driving a Plum Crazy Purple Challenger, towing an approximately 6x12 utility trailer full of building materials, including a fiberglass extension ladder. It was freaking glorious.
After waiting the requisite 24 hours before hooking up the plumbing and getting our fawnsay new granite wet, it was time to hook up our also fawnsay new faucet.
Sitting here drinking coffee, watching the granite countertops get installed. I wish I spoke Polish. AMA
Yesterday afternoon I took a little 12 mile or so ride on my scooter. The odo rolled over 4k miles while I was out, which means I’ve ridden this silly wonderful little thing over a thousand miles in the scant three months I’ve owned it. Granted, nearly half of those were last weekend running it in the Gambler…
Warning: This is a LONG post!
As some of you know, I bought a janky ‘87 Honda Helix to run in this year’s Gambler. That’s officially going to have to be a winter project, because something is really not working on that. So, I’m going to do the only reasonable thing a 350 pound man can do ... Send a 125cc scooter 500 miles this weekend. I installed…
So, my basement still looks like a bomb went off, due to the kitchen remodel, but I couldn’t wait any longer to share this bad boy.
Now that the scouts allow girls to join, my oldest decided to join up with a couple of her friends (most of her friends are boys). I never did scouts, so it’s all new to me. Today I missed the Rallycross, because we have the rain gutter boat regatta this afternoon. Should be fun! :)
I’m finding myself less and less interested/occupied by the internet lately. Not in a bad way, I’m not depressed or anything. I’m just not finding myself drawn into it so much lately. This isn’t a goodbye, or a break I’m taking, or anything. I’ve still got nothing but love for Oppo, and I’m not going anywhere. I’ve…
Bump for the daytime crowd.
Its been about two months since we had a stove. You might think we’ve been eating out a lot, but no. Mrs. Shop-Teacher has made do with a hot plate, a gas grill, and an instapot. We ate out one time that we wouldn’t have otherwise. Thanks to my buddy Fry-Guy for helping me muscle this thing into place.
So I’ve got these two tiny Hot Wheels. They were among my last TRU purchases. I dug them up today while cleaning up my office. Now, normally I DLM just about everything, but I’m having a hard time convincing myself to bust these open. It’s not about value, and it’s not about sentimentality ... It’s just that the…
So we put a trailer hitch on your trailer hitch!
I can’t let Immoral Minority have all the fun here. Today I got a $30 chinesium carb for my Gambler Helix. Tomorrow a $25 chinesium rebuild kit for the original carb should arrive. Between the two of them, I need to get that sucker running soon. The Illinois Gambler 500 is only three weeks away! The original carb…
Bad news first, I didn’t meet my goal of getting the floor in this weekend. I got close, but had to put it off Sunday to watch the second to last IndyCar race of the year. The season is almost over, and with a six month racing draught, I needs to enjoy that while I can. It was worth it.
My wife has mercifully taken on the job of putting the poly on the new kitchen cabinets I built. This is excellent, because I HAAAAAAAAATE wood finishing/painting. I decided to take my daughters out today for a day out with Daddy, to give my wife the house to herself while she worked.
My wife requested a place to charge phones and whatnot. I thought that was a capital idea. The outlets are just temp units. When everything is wrapped up, I’ll put nice new ones with USB ports in.
Cabinet box that is. He loves to lounge in the unsealed cabinets. The ones that have been sealed, he has no interest in. He never liked cat condos, but he seems to be a big fan of hard edges and raw plywood. I think I’m gonna build him a kitty cabinet from my scraps when I finish this kitchen up.
