Maybe I'm just a total square, but I do not at all understand the appeal of Chuck Taylors.

What I meant was, how could they make such a mistake? I can understand if they had a bunch of old posts queued up and one slipped through, but this one had to have been WRITTEN no less than 5 days after she died. Someone made a conscious effort to write and publish this, despite knowing that Rivers was already very

It makes a lot more sense when you remember that the vast majority of people upgrading (even probably a majority of those waiting in line) DON'T upgrade their phones every year, they do it every two or three years. If you wait longer between upgrades, the new features are much more exciting.

How did this even happen? The details of the iPhone 6 weren't even announced until Sept 9, so this must have been written after she died.

Who cares? Does it really matter how thin a phone is beyond a certain point?

No, I am completely entitled to judge someone for how they choose to use their property just as much as they are entitled to do it. You are correct that I have no right to stop them from doing so, but that doesn't mean I can't voice my opinion.

I'll wait until we see what the battery life is like on this thing. A watch that needs to be charged every day is kind of a dealbreaker for me.

You know that RT is just a mouthpiece for the Russian government, right? Everything that comes from them should be taken with a serious grain of salt.

Why did they need to fake it? This seems like it should be entirely possible to do for real.

I am perfectly within my rights to buy a Picasso, wipe my ass on it, then put it through a wood chipper and use it as kindling. It's still a stupid idea and incredibly disrespectful to the artist and the history behind the painting.

If I had to guess, most of that cost probably comes from the lens. Designing and manufacturing a lens with such a short focal length and no distortion is no easy feat.

Is it really all that strange, though? Plenty of organizations - colleges, fraternities, clubs, etc - have songs and "fellowship" culture associated with them, so is it so weird to imagine a corporation having a similar culture?

The prism is covered by the mirror when taking a shot, so it shouldn't have any effect on photos.

HCB was primarily a street photographer. Street photography requires a different approach than most other types of photography. I can assure you that "pro photographers" generally do not all follow some prescribed set of idiosyncrasies, in fact most of them have their own particular quirks that they swear by.

Google is not a "democratic society" you idiot, it's a private organization. Google gives you an agreement of terms of service in exchange for using their services, and you have every right to choose NOT to use said services.

I don't really trust this because it would be trivial for spam sites to catch on to this tactic and just filter out everything after the + sign in gmail addresses. It would be really cool if gmail had a feature that let you generate and revoke aliases for your email address.

Are you sure about that? From the description of the tech, it sounds much more similar to incandescent than CFL.

Sounds amazing. I actually don't mind compact fluorescents or LEDs, but I won't deny that incandescents still have a more pleasing light. Not to mention the possible environmental and safety issues with CFLs.

Does anyone else find Radiolab kind of annoying? The subject matter is always interesting, but the way it's presented grates on my nerves. I think it might be because it seems like they try too hard to drum up suspense.
