Ya I needed to update it (even though it auto updates) but it still said I had less than 8GB of RAM when I have 12 which is why I was confused.

Nintendo apparently doesn’t know its own audience. While their handhelds are definitely consumed most by kids, their home consoles for the longest time have been consumed by their adult hardcore fans.
