There are a lot of identifiable current and former senior leadership in that top pic. No one in fall of 2013 holding a picture of Bill Cosby could possibly be confused about the message they were sending.

I think we’re going to see a lot of these assholes moving on to explore new opportunities, like sitting at home

“At times, Bill was just really irrationally mean and unavailable; he was constantly late on set,” he said. “What I’d want to say to him is just what we tell our children: ‘You don’t have to throw tantrums to get what you want. Just say what you want.’”

I hope this is just exhaustion and not something more serious.

“I didn’t realize we made someone feel bad because I couldn’t see her face,” doesn’t really hold water for me, because the entire smug, self-satisfied, smarmy tone that they had was clearly intended to make someone feel bad.

Cher Scarlett, an ex lead on the software side in 2015-2016, says she tried to contact Morhaime about harassment she received and was reprimanded for it (not by him), and now believes he was kept in the dark (by upper management?) after talking with him about it at length today.

It bears mentioning that Nomura has been doing character design work since FFV. He did the monster designs for FFV~FFVIII and started designing some of the characters in FFVI, as well designing all the SD versions of characters that Kazuko Shibuya based her pixel art on.

I think the line is usually in regards to what’s “too real”. Ordinary people living peacefully and enjoying videogames are more likely to be dealing with suicidal ideation and self-harm than they are to be getting into high-octane gunfights.

Much as I love Final Fantasy from FFI-FFX (and Fran/Balthier from XII!) I think that the heavier and heavier reliance on Nomura-san’s hit-or-miss designs is a misstep for the direction of the series.

I wasn’t bothered by Tarkin (in general bad or noticeable CGI doesn’t bother me at all), but I thought they should have just cast Charles Dance in the role rather than bothering with the CGI.

Now playing

I will say this about the Tarkin CGI. Bringing people back from the dead so to speak does have some heavy moral implications. But this one isn’t bad. Peter Cushings constantly said he wish he could have done more Star Wars films, he loved it. Also his secretary who has his estate since he had no children approved it

I mean... Afrasiabi was brought during the original Beta along with Kaplan. That means the old guard were the ones that allowed this to take place.

We should all be side-eyeing Mike Morhaime, Chris Metzen and Jeff Kaplan, particularly Kaplan since him and Afrasiabi were best buds during their EQ days, but all those

Just to be clear, it seems many people are coming forward and pointing out that this behavior was present in Blizzard well before Activision came about.

I talk about harassment in this industry a fair amount because it happened to me and it happened to those I care about. You know what I don’t love about working in this industry? Feeling like I need to keep tabs on certain men who have a penchant for doing shit they shouldn’t but get away with anyway because they’re A

The suit also accuses Activision Blizzard of failing to act on “numerous complaints” concerning harassment, discrimination and retaliation from male colleagues over those complaints, and says employees affected were “further discouraged from complaining as human resource personnel were known to be close to alleged

I always wondered if ther was a conspiracy against Joe Ruby and Ken Spears, Thundarr’s creator. Joe and Ken also created Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?. Charren, I understand, was part of the concerned parents who claimed the show was too dark and frightening for children and demanded changes. The nannies got what they wan

You hit the nail right on the head! Marketing research showed that lots of y9ung girls were buying the Teela and Evil-Lyn figures and watching the show as well. Filmation and Mattel took advantage of this and quickly developed She-Ra, and then pared it with the Evil Horde spin-off line for the TV series.

As I mention here sometimes, I’ve written for the film industry and have close friends who have been upper-tier production people for over thirty years. Kilmer has acted like a huge asshole on many sets over the years, and it’s not because he’s so committed to his work. It’s because he’s a self-satisfied asshole.

Backlogged: Long Overdue Edition

Yeah. Either movie would have been fun, but they didn’t blend well and ended up both being underwritten.
