“Objection! Witness is not a bat!”

Missed opportunity for calling it Eat, Prey, Love

Glad to hear you’re enjoying Shining in the Darkness. It’s a real gem.

Have a great time with Toejam & Earl. It was one of my mother’s favorite games (no joke, right up there with Solomon’s Key and The Adventures of Lolo). Not the most complex or intricately designed games in the universe, but it possesses a very unique charm that’s eternally entertaining.

Whoa~~ I did NOT know that was Stan Bush, but that totally syncs up now. That’s pretty cool, actually. Sailor Moon has its own version of “The Touch” now, just as you say. Thanks for the info!

Well said, and hearing “Ai no Senshi” here makes its return in Sailor Moon S all the more resonant. In Sailor Moon R, this “Ai no Senshi” scene makes clear and cements that, no matter the person involved, Usagi will give her all to protect them.

Yeah, I remember the lovably cheesy DiC music from the original syndicated run! “My Only Love” is really great, but the song that sticks in my head most is “She’s Got the Power” from the Sailor Moon R dubbed episode featuring it:

Sensational pick. That episode’s in my Top Five as well. Just as you say, it’s not just the arrival of Saturn, but the culmination of all the arcs and themes of Sailor Moon S hitting at once. Sailor Saturn being so resolute but somber, Sailor Moon breaking down hysterically, Uranus enraged at her for just giving over

Yeah, Final Fantasy Adventure : Link’s Awakening is akin to Final Fantasy I : Final Fantasy IV. You can see the brilliant spark of ideas and potential in the former, but the latter entries are where this unique approach to gameplay threaded through vibrant storytelling would soar instead of just subsist or gel for a

This was a fantastic article. Thank you for this. ^^

/cheer /cheer to your support of Marie, Kanji, and Nanako-chan.

I’m very glad you enjoyed Wishbringer so much! As you say, it’s a really streamlined, solid, and refined take on the core components of the earlier Zork and Enchanter titles. Specifically designed to help entice newcomers to the many wondrous worlds of Infocom— it’s sensational to know its virtues still hold up today.

Oooo, going through the ENTIRE King’s Quest series? Well, /comfort in advance for the OG Sierra horrors present in KQII and KQV.

You need to eat a pork bun!

Welcome back! Agreed on some of the minor vices of Monkey Island 2's design. It’s cool that it’s far more ambitious than its predecessor’s design and that there are many islands to which you can travel.

DeNA has everything licensed in approval via Square-Enix so I assume they compensate Amano accordingly for boss sprites. Though it is interesting to note that DeNA never uses his art for any regular character portraits or weekly banners:

Salutations~!

I know, right? ^^ I was a tad worried from the demo that FF7R’s main OST would be nothing but pleasant yet hollow leitmotifs of the original FFVII tracks, but there’s SO MUCH soul and heart and personality in these songs, remixes and all. It’s extraordinary. It’s as if we got a Chrono Trigger style Dream Team of

Yeah that will definitely be interesting to see in the future. To witness how the devs handle the larger world outside of Midgar. My guess is that your destination will be fixed to a degree initially, and each new vehicle unlocked will headline a Bond Movie-esque Gauntlet from Point A to Point B, after which

I’ve gone through two boss fights in Hard Mode so far and actually, it’s pretty engaging in that regard. For an unlocked Hard Mode following my characters being at Max Level in New Game +, that is. Because the trash mobs between you and a boss in these chapters are now a mini-endurance run, which is quite thrilling.
