See- I’d keep the fruity stuff together. My favs are strawberry and orange Mentos. Though Skittles remind me of being a kid and eating so many my teeth and tongue hurt because goddamn I loved sugar so much. Both are better than Starburst. You know what I miss the most though? Tart’n’tinys.

It’s ok. There are some really terrible ones in Canada too. There’s a small group of super right wing crazies who wreck it for everyone else. Their strict adherence to joyless austerity and their firmly held belief that if you have time to sit down, even for a moment, you are a lazy and unprincipled voluptuary and you

I have to admit, I prefer strawberry and orange Mentos to anything listed here thus far.

It’s true. My grandma lived to 97 and she was a complete monster. She only went because she ran out of nurses to bully.

I think the Dutch need a waiver for this rule. They do love their licorice. And they love it even more when it’s salty enough to increase your blood pressure as soon as you put a piece in your mouth.

But that’s an entirely different type of candy! Do you classify your candies by shape? An idea I don’t disagree with, by the way. I just want to know how we are judging such things. I classify by flavour, but could be convinced to switch to shape.

AGREED. Peanut M&Ms are icky. It’s an opinion I’ve firmly held for 40 years- hence the use of the term “icky”.

Seems like a decent conclusion to me. Her dad was in the SS, though it sounds like he was not a terribly dedicated Nazi (though this could be due to snobbery and not moral concerns)

She’s pretty damn thirsty, I’d say. Like, if you’re taller, does that make you better and more royal?

That is beautiful. Truly inspired.

I met a woman who is part of the Bowes-Lyon (Queen Mum’s family) bunch- She ditched the family, moved halfway across the world, altered her last name and took up a profession considered not at all appropriate. She’s living hand to mouth and has no access to family wealth. She viewed it as freeing herself from a whole

No- not yet. Maybe she’ll keel over the first time she needs to curtsy. They all seem to be astoundingly long lived and robust in health. Particularly surprising to me, as the gene pool is quite small. Guess the mostly stress free living and being rich helps?

Princess Michael of Kent is of royal stock- she’s got a good mix of gentry and royals in her family tree- but not British royalty (who are all Germans anyhow). She’s written a couple books on her family history as well in her campaign to be the royalest royal of all royalty. From her wikipedia page, I have pulled the

Holy shit- that brooch of hers was next level passive aggression. She is a woman OBSESSED with class and hierarchy and it’s likely killing her that an American woman, with a black mum and a white dad (from the colonies!! gasp) is marrying into the Royal family- and being openly welcomed and apparently well liked.

Pretty sure it’s more along the lines of “At least they won’t ruin everything right away.” The bar is set very low now.

“The guy who molested Eliza Dushku and Harvey Weinstein ...”

I wondered about that. I am positive she would have encountered Weinstein’s predatory behaviour.

We had one get the snip at the earliest possible opportunity (he was a compulsive humper and also would sit with his dick out and resting it on the floor all the damn time) and one we waited for a year. Both squatted. However, the second one was raised/mentored by a female dog, so it may have just been him observing

Sure thing. Thanks for the lesson on how things work re: oceans of time. I really appreciate it.

I’ve found Deadspin way less of a minefield than expected and have participated in some seriously excellent conversations there with zero trolling or dismissal because I’m a woman. I feel more nervous posting here. Weirdest damn thing.
