Michelle Obama wasn’t “just” a wife. She was a woman with autonomy, a career of her own and in possession of astounding intellect and drive. She was also in completely equal partnership with her husband- who clearly loves and respects her (reciprocated!), and who is clearly proud of her singular accomplishments.
