Ha I always drink a cup of tea when I have any illness at all including heartburn. Never even questioned that logic before this second.
If the level of caffeine in tea is causing you to suffer significant personality changes I don’t think it’s the tea.
I strongly feel that if us white and white-ish women as a group could open our eyes to the fact that the way black women are viewed and treated is how society aaaaactually views and treats all women, we could make an awful lot of progress happen for all women. Mainly, I view this as being white women’s job. But…
You know, it was a similar situation to yours that first opened my eyes to male privilege. This was back in 2012, before it was in the social consciousness the way it is today. I was traveling in South America and I was having a conversation with two other American tourists but they were both women. One arrived around…
When I was single, I remember talking politics with some guy I’d met at a party. He tried to call me out for something, and I sternly nailed him back with facts and data. I sincerely thought he was a jerk because of the way he smugly raised his objections to my argument and rolled his eyes. I walked away.
I bet you like domination porn too. None of that soft stuff either. The kind where someone has tears coming down their face and a foot on the back of their head during backshots.
That is the only way I can understand why someone would want to see BTNH go against Migos. Just the “bone bone bone bone” ad-lib alone would…
Geez, do you people ever watch movies to be entertained? You can debate the merits of summer blockbusters, popcorn movies, and superhero fatigue all you want, but for movies like Black Panther and Infinity War (and maybe MI: Fallout) to not even get a sniff is just flat-out elitism.
I hate pranks. And the people who do them are so bad at them. The only good prank is one where someone is somewhat confused, but in a way that delights or makes them laugh. I think I have seen one prank that I thought was funny, ever. It was a Jaime Kennedy one where he picked up a crew of day laborers and told them…
It’s definitely tradition in my family, and while I do swap out my toothbrush more than once a year, mom didn’t put one in my stocking once and I was like “WTH? Where’s my toothbrush?!” Last year they were biodegradable bamboo with rainbow bristles!
Not a gift for me, but for my husband from his mother. I don’t know why she regularly gives him the odd gifts. Over the years, she’s gotten him an adult Batman onesie with a cape on it, manila file folders, and those plumbing snake things for when your drain is clogged. We struggle getting along with her, but I know…
I always scroll past the tweets. I always hated the sound of trumps voice, but now I can’t even read his repulsive words. The man is toxic.
As an aside, does the fact that people are debating “Who’s the Catch?” in a relationship seem super-messed up to anyone else? Like she’s clearly more famous, but what if they just both compliment each other perfectly. It’s always weird to me that people have to rank one member of a couple superior to the other.
I can’t get my head around the take that Priyanka is bad for wanting a marriage but Nick is cool because he just wanted to fuck her. Wow.
The entire Nova/DC/Maryland infrastructure was built for maybe 2 million people and now already holds 10 million, in a region with three conflicting governments, with some of the worst traffic in the country, and with some of the most stupidly unaffordable real estate. “Crystal City” is just a tiny strip of at…
On top of all the research, I don’t spank my daughter because I’m an educator who spends 8 hours a day with 400 kids and never put hands on them. It seems uniquely fucked up to consciously choose to treat other people's kids better than my own.
I was spanked back in the day when they still had corporal punishment at school- in the early 70's in LA when the gangs started to pop. You could get in a fight at school, whooped by your teachers, jumped on the way home and hit by the parents...don’t do that to your kids, man...make home a safe space.
This is an extremely good take.
I like how you posted three articles that actually gave parents responsible ways to “discipline” their children and the only take away you could infer was that children hate discipline and psychology is dumb.
I just want to add that I was eating watermelon as I got to your comment.
