I’ve always heard this advice, but I think it depends on how much of a napper you normally are. The only time I’ve found naps to be really bad for adjusting to jet lag is if they are really long to the point of basically being a sleep. Obviously napping for 3+ hours in the afternoon is a bad idea if you want to go to

I like caffeine pills for this. Even faster than soda.

Getting an adult cat over a kitten can just be good advice in general even for older kids or adults. Training a kitten is a lot of work, versus an adult cat who already knows how to use a litter box and is also generally calmer.

So granted these numbers probably include a lot of people doing “fun run” or charity 5ks. But 8:20 miles for the length of a 5k are definitely very much on the fast side for women, and still decently better than average for men.

Idk I’d still lean toward just not mentioning it to your kid at all. I’ve heard health class is still the #1 source for kids even getting the idea to try inhalants at all, for example. As they’re otherwise simply not fun enough for the idea of doing them to be very prominent. There’s a good chance you’ll be the first

Could have sworn in previous years Lifehacker told me that it did make a big enough difference that I should really aim to get it in mid-late October, rather than risk getting it too early and having it wear off. Why the different advice this year?

I used to just get it done whenever my office had them available. Which usually was a bit on the late side in terms of optimizing protection (early-mid November), but worth it for the convenience factor.

I don’t see mask wearing to someplace like the supermarket continuing to be a thing post-COVID. But I could see it being a thing in a situation like commuting at rush hour on the subway during flu season, for example.

Isn’t botulism from canned food usually from a really old can of food? I haven’t heard anything about extra risk from taking it out of the can and then keeping it in the fridge for 3-4 days.

It’s basically the same idea as canned tuna. Idk why people are so much more weirded out by one over the other.

My cousin’s college is having only freshmen live on campus so that they can use the upper class dorms suites for the younger students. These dorms have a suite set-up with a bedroom per person, then a living room and bathroom shared by 4 people. I feel like with these kind of dorms, you would have to have more of the

I think TD stopped letting in people without an account for coin counting. Which makes sense. Like it was nice for the public but what is the advantage for them to do so.

So the issue is if you don’t have a TD bank account, I believe most locations have switched to allowing coin counting only with an account there. So that doesn’t leave many free coin counting options.

Most vegetarians/vegans are not avoiding meat because of the taste? Usually it’s for environmental, ethical, or health reasons. I don’t understand how this comment is on every article about vegan food. It’s a pretty simple concept.

I’ve been wanting to add a heavier kettlebell to my repertoire and they’ve been out of stock for months. The options linked are also all out of stock. Clearly kettlebells don’t need this article to boost their popularity.

So I get how a kid could lock themselves into a room. That seems reasonable enough to plan for. But what kind of house has doors where it is even possible for an adult to be locked inside a room? That just seems like a fire hazard even without a toddler.

Oh man speaking of moms, I remember my friend’s mom wanted to make her mac and cheese from scratch and she was not super into it because she just wanted Kraft, lol. I was like what is wrong with you?

Unfortunately, not everyone will qualify for federal paid leave. Companies with more than 500 employees and some public employees may be exempt from these new rules. Small employers (including religious and non-profit organizations) with fewer than 50 employees may qualify for an exemption if following the rules

Am I the only weirdo who grew up with frozen mac and cheese (Stouffer’s) over the boxed stuff? I think my mom just really hated doing dishes so the Stouffer’s was chosen for its plastic tray, lol. Anyway because of that I never developed a taste for the Kraft stuff. If I’m going to do a boxed one it has to be some
