Not set in the US but Call the Midwife did a great episode featuring an elderly woman (the show is set in the 1960s) who was a suffragette as a young woman.

I don’t have kids. But I used to pick up colds or minor flu-like illnesses from the subway or especially I think the gym quite regularly. So I’ve had a similar experience of finally going six months without a cold for the first time in forever.

Speaking of exercise, I feel like the best way for some people to go about mindfulness is to engage in some kind of activity that inherently requires it. Idk what the research says on doing other activities “meditatively” versus doing standalone meditation. But when I’m squatting for example, I’m both very in the

When I started my first full-time job after college there was a pitcher of leftover sangria fruit from the office happy hour that no one wanted. 22-year-old me got to take it home and I was ecstatic.

Not to mention the glasses fogging up issue now that we all have to wear masks! I was actually primarily a glasses person before all this. But I now wear contacts for at least part of the day every day because wearing glasses with a mask is so terrible.

Am I the only one who finds my eyes get drier more with the disposables? I love the idea of the convenience factor, and would have no problem paying extra for them. But I find them way more drying than the two-week kind.

I will say with sign-up bonuses, for a bit more effort you can also “churn” through them and then not pay the fee after the first year. Chase is actually a great example of this. As you can just downgrade the card to the free version after the first year without it counting as a cancellation for your credit score.

If both are clearly defined why would you have to fight both of them? If you have two separate policies you would only have to deal with the personal liability one, assuming the homeowners’ one clearly excluded that.

Am I the only one who rotates masks such that I end up wearing any given mask 2-3x before washing it? I’ll wear mask A on Monday, B on Tuesday, and c on Wednesday, then rotate back to A without washing it on Thursday. Everything I’ve heard about how long the virus lives on different surfaces suggests it should be

So wait, does having one of these breeds sometimes mean you can’t get a policy from that company at all? Seems like it would be smarter to just have a modified version of the policy that doesn’t include dog bites if they’re that concerned about having to pay out for that.

Doesn’t a lot of the evidence suggest that yearly checkups for people in otherwise good health may do more harm than good? False positives aren’t a good thing either.

You can also wear a mask during a mammogram. So that makes a big difference over something that inherently requires dealing with fluids.

If someone’s choices are not wearing a mask at all or wearing a neck gaiter (or the things that are like gaiters but have ear straps), then the gaiter is better than no mask.”

Yeah I don’t really get this study at all if it’s about the efficacy of the measuring device. Generally when testing a new measuring device, the idea is to compare to the closest already established measurements you have. So if we know from a more expensive or difficult to use device that N95 masks let through X% of

Isn’t this kind of a dumb study if it’s about the efficacy of the measuring device? Generally when testing a new measuring device, the idea is to compare to the closest already established measurements you have. So if we know from a more expensive or difficult to use device that N95 masks let through X% of droplets,

A lot of science classes include a hands-on component that will now not be available. A biology or chemistry class that now doesn’t include a proper lab should absolutely be cheaper.

A lot of “educated professionals” are recommending for schools to re-open though?

I think the beans will still be available? Since those are still also used in other non-vegetarian menu items.

So in other words, you might was well wait until six months old—there’s no reason to rush it.”

Most brushing scams I’ve heard of have involved cheap plastic toys or beads or something like that. Seeds just seems like such a strange choice. Are seeds even that cheap compared to other options? The conspiracy theorist in me wants to believe it’s nefarious and purposely meant to be an invasive species.
