I definitely didn’t follow this advice and could barely hear for a couple days the last time I tried to use a neti pot. Even though I know it normally would have been fine if I had taken a decongestant, I’m honestly still hesitant to try it again because of that.
“Wearing a fitted, high-end pair of sweatpants is a stylish way of keeping comfortable in just about every aspect of your life.”
Aren’t sweatpants by definition not fitted?
But if cold feet are the issue wouldn’t closed toe shoes be better? The whole point of sandals to me is to get some air on your feet. Like regardless of fashion, I just don’t really get the advantage of socks with sandals even just considering comfort.
I feel like denim shirts can be fine with non-denim pants or worn open on top of a dress. Basically using as a sub for a denim jacket when a jacket would be too heavy for the weather or too structured.
If you’re currently trying to compare options when buying a new car (or new-to-you used car), wouldn’t you need to know your typical miles driven per year to be able to make a fair comparison? I feel like that’s a more typical and useful scenario than comparing cars for one particular trip. Read more
Yup. The main good advice in this article is to reuse what you can, or to take advantage of charity options if you are really in poverty. Beyond that though I really don’t think trying to find the best possible deals on pencils or buying the generic instead of Ticonderoga is really going to be worth the effort for… Read more
I’m not saying time-outs are necessarily the most effective technique but I think the claim in the other article that they are going to lead to “feelings of abandonment and isolation” are a bit overblown. I always thought the main deterrent effect of a timeout is supposed to be that it is boring. I always was given… Read more
Similar to other commenters here I feel like my worst purchases were more directly pandemic related. We definitely have some canned goods I panic bought in 2020 that we now need to eat before they expire, even though they aren’t things I would normally have bought (like canned vegetables). I also bought too many cloth… Read more
You know you can click the “list items” icon and see all the slide titles at once right?
Another thing is that while the big things are often the most impactful, there’s often less room to cut there. Maybe $2k is the cheapest rent available without having a terrible commute or living somewhere unsafe. Or you have a family and can’t get roommates. Or even you just renewed your lease and so you’re locked in… Read more
True although you also have to consider what you value in terms of quality of life. For example let’s say the choice is spending $300 (or $300 more) a month on takeout versus an apartment that is $300 cheaper. I personally would rather pack a sandwich than have a roommate or one less bedroom. But others may feel… Read more
Spice can also make a great addition to a mocktail margarita. The mild burn almost gives a bit of a placebo effect of drinking tequila.
Yup that and the chili is my go-to. Like 600 calories for the whole giant-feeling meal and I’m often too full to even finish it. Add a small frosty if I want to treat myself a bit without going too crazy.
I learned this awhile ago but I still eat it anyway lol.
I was obsessed with the Mandarin Chicken salad as a teenager. So sad they discontinued it.
FYI you can also get Taco Bell refried beans in a can at the supermarket that taste exactly like the ones in the restaurant. Never had the black beans but their refried are my favorite.
They discontinued them :( I miss them so much.
Taco Bell specifically is pretty famous for discontinuing menu items and people being upset about it. My favorite was the pintos and cheese side dish (exactly what it sounds like, beans and cheese and red sauce in a little bowl).
Currently in the end stages of planning a wedding and honestly feel like the wheel spinning apps would be perfect at this stage of the game. All the big decisions are done at this point (venue, guest list) and now we just have tons of little decisions that need to be made, but don’t really matter. Like, what color of… Read more
