Not many people carry that much muscle mass. Just because you played ball and hit the gym a lot doesn't mean the people you are hanging with are representative of the general population.

My point is saying "correlation does not equal causation" is lame.

Here's a CDC link that has good info. I've read enough to have come to the conclusion that although there are some benefits to circumcision, it's basically unnecessary. Some people come to different conclusions.

Look, I'm generally anti-circumcision, but on the mutilation scale, cutting off the foreskin is closer to ear piercing than it is to, say, female genital practices in some parts of the world. Also, there are documented benefits to circumcision, even though I don't think they outweigh the negatives. Keep it in

Okay I basically agree with you. :) It does seem that a much better system than BMI could be implemented.

Well, you can reserve your judgement, but if the school has decided they want encourage good health among their students, then they are going to defer to current authority. That would probably be the CDC. They recommend using BMI as a screening tool, and then doing further assessment. The CDC also outlines the risks

Or you could more accurately say, "BMI is oftenan indication of overweight/underweight, which is oftenan indication of further health problems, so perhaps you should take note of this and consider if your child overweight."

But it sure as hell provides a hint.

The population of the US is about 313,914,040. There are approximately 1,700 NFL players. You have just chosen a sample size consisting of 0.00000541549% of the population.

They don't say it's a bad measure, they just say it needs to be considered in the context of the specific person it's being applied to.

Now playing

Queen of the harpies! Queen of the harpies! Here's your crown, your majesty.

Intentional or not, there are some uncomfortable moments in those films.

That is true. I remember a brief time when John Malkovich was being described as sexy. I think that time has passed? I'm a hetero guy, but I always thought Bob Hoskins radiated sexuality when he was younger, and he not exactly conventionally attractive.

I know you meant physically, but you wrote psychically. That's hilarious.

I've read that opposite-sex siblings who did not grow up together often find each other sexually attractive. I have't read anything about homosexual same-sex siblings . . .

Doesn't that make him . . . attractive?

Someone's been into the cultural anthropology books again!

I see what you're saying now. Yes, my problem when I travel in Asia is not knowing what I am eating. When I ask I usually get an answer of vegetable, seafood, or meat. Those categories leave a lot to the imagination.

Hah, I'm not a vegetarian, but I can be a little picky in what I eat. I do business in China and Korea, and my problem is that they are so proud of their food, they basically make me eat things. "Here, eat this, it is a local delicacy. Very rare and expensive!" Obviously I'm not being forced to eat it, but I can't

You can visit Asia and just eat vegetarian while you're there. You can also just eat easily identifiable meats, like pork and chicken. If you are really that concerned, I would advise also avoiding the continents of South America, Europe and Africa.
