@hdgotham: I think 200 calories is more like what you burn from a good 30 min. workout. I'd say for an hour you'd get maybe 3oo (if you walked/moderately exercised)-600 (if you ran/strenuously exercised)

@bluebears: I think that it is kind of extreme because you also have to give your body time to heal and for that reason you should at least have one day free of exercise a week. I'm not saying to sit on the couch and do nothing- active recovery (like stretching or taking a walk) is ideal, but if you are working out

Um, is it just me or is 5 lbs. in 13 years not really a big deal?

@lodown: I love Buffalo Exchange (and similar used clothing stores) for designer jeans. I've gotten a few pairs for about 10% of their original price that way. And jeans last forever so they look good as new on me!

@femme-bot: I'm that way with jewelry. I think nice but non-flashy jewelery really elevates an outfit and I have some nice pieces I wear almost every day.

@rixatrix: I have some raybans that I've taken excellent care of for about 5 years. Of course, I also have a pair of cheapo sunglasses that have lasted that long too (they're really useful as running sunglasses so I take care of them I guess.) But I will say the raybans don't look very current anymore. It doesn't

@shellybean: Or does that still count as "fast fashion" b/c I don't even know anymore.

The best is when you buy something that is cheap and then it inexplicably lasts forever and looks timelessly cute. I have a pair of brown moccasins from Payless that seem to be immortal.

@Casquivana: I find that the subtleties of fit change so much that I am afraid to buy something intending to wear it for years. Things look dated on me after a only a couple years. I've learned this lesson the hard way with expensive pants.

@blissfullisweet: Good for you! I hope you look in the mirror every night, smile, and give yourself a high five for being a good, strong, moral person!

@nobodyr: And in addition to everything else that people said in the replies, it greatly increases your chances of reincarnating as a dung beetle.

I love the irony that someone thinks that Stupak is a baby killer b/c he voted in favor of a bill that will require insurance companies to pay for maternal care. Because that doesn't help fetuses at all.

@dellbot: My attitude towards this is similar- I don't understand how someone can follow a path that would cause them to voluntarily lose their mobility. I link mobility pretty directly to quality of life and my ability to get up and go places and move around is a huge component of my happiness.

@BiteMeMitchell!: It's all about priorities b/c every lifestyle you select requires you to give up another one. I think the niceness of having someone to go home to, for me, outweighs the fun of having more than one current sex partner, although there are pros and cons to both. I just think it's totally selfish of men

@BiteMeMitchell!: If you can't be monogamous and can't find someone willing to be in an open relationship with you, then don't have relationships.

So he hates himself b/c can't afford to go to Europe and tries to fill the aching hole in his superficial little heart by having sex in mediocre motels in the suburbs. Have I missed anything?

I have a pair of knock off Uggs (Emu to be exact) that I keep for when I go skiing. They are soft and feel kind of nice immediately after you pry your exhausted feet out of your ski boots, but walking around in them for more than 5 minutes is torture for me. I bought something cuter and more supportive this year. I
