I used to live in Baltimore and on the day that Michael Jackson died, an impromptu gathering turned into a dance party in the park outside my apartment. It was a pretty decent-sized crowd, and when a cop came up I was sure he was going to break it up - but he started dancing. It was magical.

they are cool! The funny thing is that everyone in Chicago seems to know what the Chicago flag looks like - there seems to be less in DC that know what the DC flag is. I can’t tell you how many times while living in DC I had someone ask me what it was.

I have tattoos from the cities I’ve lived in that have had the greatest impact. I moved around when I was little but went to high school in Michigan and HATED it. So although I have the state of Maryland with a star to indicate Baltimore and the Washington, DC flag - I am never planning on getting anything Michigan…
