I’m sure you can sell a lot more Stranger Things and Witcher merchandise than you can GLOW Merchandise.

Same. I thought it was audacious yet charming.

That Stroll of Joy scene set to Hall & Oates pretty much sells the entire 500 Days of Summer movie for me. It’s so good that I just gave in to the movie when it happened.

Mars Attacks came out later that year and yeah I agree with you. I think I commented at the time that it should’ve been the bigger Blockbuster.

I wasn’t a punk, but I was a dumb kid straight out of High School that was fascinated with the idea of Anarchy. (Despite turning 18 that year I didn’t vote in the election, because Why Bother man?) So the image of the White House blowing up was just amazing.

I really enjoy his Christmas albums. Mostly because I like offbeat Christmas music to counteract the standards that are pulled out every damn year. I never really got into the non-Holiday songs. Although I think I like his new song “Video Game”

I can enjoy The Monster Squad now because of the nostalgia factor, but I enjoyed it as a kid because the kids felt authentic despite the stereotypicalness of them. The plot is pretty ridiculous, yet it’s fun at the same time. It’s got a little 80's badness in it (using “f*g, or the treatment of the older sister) but

I looked up Barnes & Barnes yesterday and was surprised to see that Yeah, Bill Mumy was one of the Barnes’s. That song and video is such a strange, wonderful part of my childhood.

He did seem like a good guy. I remember now what made me think of him yesterday. I was cooking fish last night and I started singing “Fish Heads” by Barnes & Barnes. The video of which was a very early MTV staple and was directed and starred Mr. Paxton.

It must have been seeing this article subconsciously yesterday that got me randomly thinking of Bill Paxton and how much of a bummer it is that he is gone. Oddly enough I was thinking of Bridget Fonda yesterday too. But that was because Nathan Rabin wrote about “It Could Happen to You” on his site the other day.

Unless the rest of the title is “In Little China” I am not watching this.

My Sister in Law failed a drug test after Easter one year. Apparently she would eat spoonfuls of Poppy Seed filling for the Easter poppy seed rolls.

Oh man, “Something Wicked” would be perfect October viewing.

My niece was into Stranger Things as well, granted she is older than 9, and I wouldn’t let my own 9 year old Daughter watch it.

Yeah, I saw that as well. I’ll take back all the nasty things I thought about him.

I agree with you. It’s nice to have just an episodic nature to it. Keep it low-stakes.

I agree with the “fine” aspect of it. A lot of S1 gave off a Xena Warrior Princess or Hercules The Legendary Journey vibes for me. Except dressed up in Star Wars garb. Of course, for me that was enough to enjoy it as a time filler.I am not contrarian about it as the Star Wars and cute Baby Yoda sell me on it. BUt I

I probably haven’t seen The Wonder Years since it aired so I believe you. However, he was a young teenage boy. So being self-centered and treating women (All women or just his girlfriends and love interests? I guess it doesn’t matter) terribly are traits of young teenage boys. Does he ever grow up, or does he remain

I think it was awhile before I realized the conceit that this was a “good-parts version” of an old text was also fiction.

Fred Savage is a Republican? That stinks.
