Thank you so much for this!

You have a good point. The Ren, Rey and Luke stuff are the only parts of TLJ that I think are fully formed. “Everything else fell to the wayside” as you say.
Did not expect to read a Dragonlance quote today, but here we are.
Can someone just break this movie down into Halloween Setting establishing shots GIFs for me? Preferably removing all traces of Sandler?
Never seen them live outside of footage, but yeah, they seem to really put on a performance. With Almqvist seeming to channel Mick Jagger’s youth, or as you say James Brown.
All of them have their issues, but the fact that Solo and Rogue One are standalone (barring Solo’s Darth Maul nonsense) make them easier to revisit. TLJ would be a decent middle chapter of a trilogy, (Especially if you cut a lot of it out) but not the one we got.
Shawshank seems to be more Oscar-bait than an outlier like Pulp Fiction. Shawshank is prestige picture whereas Pulp is stylized and independent. For good and mostly bad Pulp probably influenced way more films in it’s wake. That could also be why it seems less important now. Sometimes it is hard to see how original and…
Your rambling has some good points. Finn’s arc in TLJ should have focused on his stormtroooper past. Show him trying to infiltrate a brainwashing complex, or preventing the theft of a planets’ children by the First Order. Hell, if they wanted to go real heavy they could’ve had Finn find his home planet and shown the…
Considering how disjointed the entire sequel feels from each other, I feel no need to watch them again. They just aren’t entertaining enough. As you say, Rogue One and Solo are more enjoyable.
This is an intriguing far out idea, and now that it has been presented to me I wish that it would have happened.
I’m thinking of having tacos tonight
That Sublime lyric followed by a sad solo reminds me of U2's live version of “Silver and Gold” from Rattle and Hum. Bono gives a typical Bono speech then ends with “Okay Edge, play the Blues” and The Edge busts out a pretty solid Edge Guitar Solo which in no way sounds like the Blues.
How about Pennsylvania?
I would say reading the comic is pretty important. You can get the gist of the characters and stories from the Movie, but the show uses the comics ending, not the movie ending, and that plays a lot into the story.
This episode deserves all the accolades. I was skeptical of The Watchmen series at first. But every episode was great and kept me coming back for more. This episode though transcended them all. What a tour de force it was. Everything about it was amazing.
I will take this lame dad enthusiasm over the current Nazi rally any day of the week.
I’m getting a Catwoman/Max Shreck vibe here. Which is a shame, because it didn’t work for me in Batman Returns
The Cut Copy felt a little off to me. Didn’t seem like an official “album” Maybe I’m wrong, I’ll definitely give it another spin or dozen.
I’ll take your word for it. And I know that that one is the longest of the Potter movies. Maybe a good editor could’ve trimmed a lot of those reaction shots and gotten it to a manageable 90 minutes.
Ha, I had the same feeling. Why else would he keep such a slovenly, sarcastic asshole around. I mean he can’t be that great of an IT guy if the 11 year old could hack his system so easily.
