She only talks in this sexy, breathy whisper. I feel the only reason she was tolerable-to-decent in The Friend was because she was confined to a bed and dying of cancer for 3/4 of the movie.

>You don’t have a clue what this film is about.
The fact that you can’t discuss a movie without hurling insults says “everything else about you.”
I had the same issue with Promising Young Woman. When you boil it down, the entire movie is about a woman willingly throwing her life away to make the tragic death of her best friend all about her.
Growing up lower middle class, one of my fondest memories was checking out VHS tapes from the local library. I’ve seen almost every episode of Faerie Tale Theatre because, well, that’s what the library had. Seeing Duvall in The Shining much later in life was a real trip.
The entire comment section is basically the “Chappell Who?” crowd and the “You don’t like it because it’s not for you” crowd engaging in a madcap race to see who can be more insufferable.
Another Crab’s Treasure (ACT) is one of a handful of games I’ve bothered to platinum (Elden Ring and What Remains of Edith Finch are a few others). As a huge fan of Soulslike games, I appreciated the “relaxed” difficulty of ACT. It was also nice to see an entry into the genre that wasn’t grim dark and depressing (for…
I loved Onward, and I still feel that Brave is one of Pixar’s best movies. But the last few years? Yikes. Elemental wasn’t just bad for a Pixar movie, it was legitimately awful. My kids couldn’t even finish it. The person responsible for The Good Dinosaur probably shouldn’t have been given another movie to direct.
There’s a 100% chance that every song is going to have a 15-second ear worm designed to play well on Tiktok, with the remaining 1:45 of every number being a pastiche of multiple genres and AI-generated pop culture references.
I mean, I believe the whole point of that act was to show that they’re finally leaving the island, since, you know, Moana’s dad spent the first part of the movie telling her not to leave the island. There won’t be another rock, is what I’m saying. The shell is the last rock.
Nation Perplexed as Long-Standing Comedy Tradition Known for Being Mean Spirited Ends Up Being Mean Spirited
The fight scenes continue to be the strongest part of the show. Acting wise, Hoon Lee’s back must be ripped from carrying all three seasons on his shoulders. It’s a little ironic that the show’s weakest link is its chief conceit: the rivalry between siblings in competing Tongs.
NYT had a massive piece about how his meteoric rise to media fame was completely calculated and orchestrated almost entirely by his PR team, which is run by two childhood friends from Cincinnati. Kelce’s deep well of charisma (and good looks) definitely played a large part, but the dude is 100% a try-hard.
You’d be shocked to learn that a significant portion of Glaser’s Netflix special is devoted to her cracking jokes about how much of a slut she is.
Everything up to, and including, the first boss feels like a tutorial. The game really begins when you return to the castle. The second boss took some doing, but the third boss, with the chopsticks, is where I started riding the struggle bus.
As a fan of both kung fu and samurai movies, I wanted to dismiss this show, but I’m glad I forced myself to power through the pilot. Once the show got going, I ending up binging the whole season over three days. Now I’m going to give Warrior another shot.
Is an entire stand up special about being mean better or worse than her previous special, which was about being rich? I can’t decide.
Oh there you go. Wet Hot American Summer is one of my favorite comedies of all time. I was shocked by how not awful the Netflix revivals were.
As a huge fan of the first Zoolander, it pains me to say the sequel was absolutely, irredeemably unwatchable. Did Stiller learn nothing from the critical/audience response to Anchorman 2? Resurrecting a comedy after 10+ years for a sequel RARELY works. I’m sure someone in the comments will come up with an example of…
It’s fun as a distraction before bed, but I can’t say I’d be sad if TikTok went away. I would not, as many American companies would hope, fill the void by moving to another app. I’m comfortably not on most social media apps except YouTube. TikTok is just that app, but with shorter videos (most of the time anyway).
